Hi everyone! I'm Keely from Keely's Nails, and thank you so much to Katherine for letting me guest post for you today. I've got the Bow Polish Thermal Top Coat to show off today, but I'll introduce myself quickly first.
I've been into nail art for a really long time and a few years ago decided to start blogging as a way to keep track of my progress (as well as learning some technical skills). Since then, I've mastered stamping, watermarbling and Wordpress skills too! It's definitely been an adventure and I've made some great friends along the way.
It is very hot in the UK at the moment, so it isn't really the best time to be playing with thermal polishes. I couldn't resist the pull of this black, glittery top coat though. I'd seen Sveta Sanders videos last year and finally caved in and bought it.

Bow Polish Thermal Top Coat
I can't handle my naked nails showing through, so I started with a grey base. Disciplined is quite a sheer holographic polish, so having a single coat of Faded underneath makes sense. I normally follow up with a layer of top coat so I have a firm base to stamp on.
Next, I stamped the design from the Suki plate, and can I just say thank you for clear stampers. They have finally allowed me to stamp a design straight! I have really curvy nails, so I always used a rolling technique across my nails to make sure I could even get the design on my whole nail. Getting a design straight was a distant dream!
There is another layer of top coat in here - I didn't want to experiment and find that the Bow Polish streaks the stamping, so I am playing it safe.
Bow Polish Thermal Top Coat
Finally, two coats of the thermal top coat. It is so hot here at the moment, it goes clear as soon as I brush it on - I'm not sure I got it all the way down to my cuticles as a result. To get the cold photo I had to get my hand straight from the cup of water to in front of the camera in a few seconds, but as you can see it was already transitioning.
It looks really great though, and I love showing off the transition to non-nail polish people - they are always amazed.

DeleteOh my gosh, those look really pretty. I have always wanted to have detail like this on my nails but I haven't for two reasons. 1) I don't think I'd be able to do it by myself and 2) My nails keep breaking and splitting easily.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nikki! The details come from stamping, which is easy to do yourself, on both hands! Invest in some cuticle oil and slather it on until your nails can't absorb any more :) it takes a while for new growth to come through however.
