Candy Corn in the Halloween Void!

I'm having a fun time naming my Halloween nail art looks, can you tell? Haha.

What's a Halloween theme without some candy corn! I actually wore the base of these nails (the gradient on it's own) to a pumpkin carving party earlier in the week and it was a huge hit. I'm always surprised by how much people outside of the blogging community love nail gradients. I mean, it's great for me since when I do their nails gradients are so easy to do, but I always go in expecting them to prefer fancy free-hand work. Shows what I know. :) Anyway, enough about that. Let's get into the nails!

The Spoopiest Bloody Eyeballs You Ever Did See!

* Items in this post were gifted to me by NailPolishCanada.com

Today I have some spoopy bloody eyeball nails to share with you for Halloween! Dripping blood, dismembered body parts, drifting ghosts... These are definitely some of the things that come to mind for me when Halloween rolls around. Where better to put them than on your nails! :)

Julep Maven November 2014 Selections are Open - The Friendsgiving Collection

*Post contains affiliate links

As pictured on Julep

Another month, another Julep collection. For November 2014 Julep brings us The Friendsgiving Collection which has a variety of chill fall colours to help us transition into the season. They've also given us a sneak peek and early access to some of the Holiday 2014 sets! (With more set to be released in this month's Secret Store - come on full Birthstone Collection!)

I still haven't gotten my Julep box for October (they recently changed shipping and a lot of people are in the same spot) so my excitement has been tempered a bit by that... But anyway, the products still look lovely so let's get right into it. :)

Swatch-It Sunday: China Glaze Ruby Pumps

China Glaze Ruby Pumps is one of those polishes that everyone knows and loves. It's definitely a collection staple, though I didn't know anything about it's history until I did a bit of research for this post! This polish is part of the Wizard Of Ooh Ahz Collection and if you want to hear more about the release (re-discovery, re-creation, re-release) of this collection I'd encourage you to check out the post over on All Lacquered Up.

Ruby Pumps polish is a bold red jelly packed with red glitter. Because it's a jelly it does take time to build up which is a problem for some people. I know my mom was disappointed when she saw how many coats she had to use (this is the only polish she owns!). I get around that by using a coat of red undies first and then layering two coats of Ruby Pumps on top.

Like all China Glaze polishes it applies really well, though I would suggest using a layer of top coat when you're done to smooth all the glitter down (which I didn't do here).

I think this is a great polish to pull in for Halloween looks to give the impression of dripping, glittering blood (which I've already used it once for this holiday season), but it's also a great bold colour to wear year around. Definitely one to grab if you don't have it already. :)

Thanks for visiting!

31 Day Challenge 2014 Roundup

I truly never thought I would ever be able to finish a 31 day challenge. On a good week I post 3-4 times, but to post every day for a whole month? Unthinkable! But it just goes to show you that if you put your mind and energy into something then sometimes even the unthinkable is possible. :)

I don't think I'll be continuing to post daily in the future but I'll definitely give consideration to 31 day challenges in the future now. (I've done it once, doing it a second time can only be easier right?)

I've put this post together to summarize my experience and pull together all my fills, so check under the cut for both my reflection and (a lot of) pictures!

Swatch-It Sunday: OPI Just Spotted the Lizard

Know what we haven't done in a while in these parts? Plain ol' swatches. I have so many untrieds and even more unswatched, so I'm really trying to get my butt in gear to get them up. Today we have swatches from a stunning 2012 duochrome - OPI Just Spotted the Lizard!

My Julep Maven (September 2014) Customized Boho Glam Box Unboxing, Swatch and Review!

* Post contains affiliate links

Remember how I said I wasn't getting anything from the September collection? Yeah, well I lied. :) Unfortunately with the 31 Day Challenge going on I didn't have any time to actually go through and swatch this box, so that's why it's been so horribly delayed. But we're here now, so let's get right into it!

The 31 Day Challenge 2014 - Day 31: Triangle Decal Mani

And we've made it. The last day of the 31 Day Challenge for 2014. I'm happy to be done, but I'm also a bit sad. It's hard to let go of things even when you were looking forward to the end. Oh well. There's always next year to look forward to. :)

The last theme for the challenge was to honour nails you love and you can check below the cut to see who and what design I decided to honour with this look!

The 31 Day Challenge 2014 - Day 30: Peacock Waterfall Mani

Day 30 is Inspired by a Tutorial so I decided to go with a look that I've been meaning to try but haven't yet done - a waterfall mani! I was inspired by the awesome tutorial put together by The Nailasaurus and used some peacock-inspired colours because why not. :)

The 31 Day Challenge 2014 - Day 29: Bleeding Out the Glitter

Look at that, two posts in one day. We're another step closer to being done this challenge! And this one also let me dip my toes in the Halloween spirit - Day 29 is Inspired by the Supernatural! I decided to do some negative space dripping blood to go with a vague vampire theme, but I reversed the nature of the drip so the negative space is the part doing the dripping and the blood is being left to drain off the tips. And then I added some glitter because why the hell not. ;)

The 31 Day Challenge 2014 - Day 28: Fall Pennant Flags

Day 28 was supposed to be inspired by a flag, and I decided to follow the looks done by a few other bloggers for today and do some pennant flags. I used some fall colours to go with the season and the flags themselves are actually all from last month's Square Hue box (which I hope to have a review up for in the next week - sorry for the delay!). Let's take a better look!

The 31 Day Challenge 2014 - Day 27: Inspired by Autumn Leaf Embroidery

You may have noticed there was an abrupt stop to my fills for The 31 Day Challenge. I ran out of steam and I ran out of inspiration and I just needed a few days to rest. But I'm going to try to push through this last week of fills if it kills me! Today I have my fill for Day 27: Inspired by Artwork.
