ProcrastiNails: Nail Art // Blue and Green Freehanded Froggy for When Colours Collide

For this round of When Colours Collide I wanted to use the prompts (blue and green only!) to do a look in a similar vein to my freehanded elephant from forever ago (aka 2014). I wanted the cutesy cartoon-y feel and I’m pretty happy with what I ended up with! 🙂

I used what felt like a billion polishes for this look but was in fact only four! Basically I grabbed a bunch of blues and greens and just used what called to me as I put the look together.

My base is a smoosh mani using different shades of blue and turquoise: Julep Shelly (swatched here), Something Blue and Lissa (swatched here). I then added some swooshes with the lightest blue and then drew my frog and added my dots with the glittery duochrome Julep Waleska (swatched here). Add some details to the frog with more of the light blue, seal with top coat and it’s done!

That frog looks so happy to be sitting on my nail! 🙂 I wish I had given him a little green lily pad to sit on! That would have really completed the look I think.

So that’s it for this round of When Colours Collide! I’ll probably take a break from the group for a couple rounds as I have a ton of other posts to get through first, but I’m sure I’ll be back at some point in the future.

Let me know what you think, and thanks for visiting! xx
