Hello loves! I'm sorry for all the radio silence, I took an unplanned break through some of April as it was both my birthday month and my mom was visiting for a couple of weeks! I'm back now though, and the first thing we're looking at is this unboxing for my March 2017 Topbox. Hooray!
Topbox is a Canadian subscription box that contains four deluxe-sized (and sometimes full-sized!) beauty samples every month for $12 CAD (plus tax, free shipping).

Today I have a quick swatch to share with you from one of the (many) Advent Calendars I picked up at the end of last year. This one is from LynBDesigns' 12 Days of Holo Box which featured 12 LE shades that each featured (you guessed it) holo in one form or another.
I keep meaning to swatch the full box to share with you, but for now I have the polish from Day 1: Bauble!

So when I started this blog it was really to feature the nails I was doing as part of my self-care routine. Self-care is basically things that we can do to take care of ourselves, recharge our batteries (emotionally and physically) and nurture ourselves. It can include relaxing things, fun things, and even just doing things you know you need to do to be your best self even if you don't feel like it (like taking a shower, eating, doing laundry, etc.).
In the mental health field we talk a LOT about self-care, but sometimes it feels a bit like just a buzz word. Something we say without really thinking about, and something we don't really reflect on as much as we should.
In the interest of supporting you, my readers, to focus a little bit on self-care (while also working to support myself!) I've started this new little series of things you can do to help take care of yourself. Today I want to focus on little routines or actions you can do to incorporate nails into your self-care, and if you have other ideas or things you do for yourself I'd love to hear about them in the comments!
So grab a cup of tea, click the link below, and choose something you'd like to do just for yourself (and your nails!) later today..

When I can't figure out what to do on my nails I can always turn to vinyls! Or decals. Or stencils. I feel like everyone calls them different things! I usually call everything that is stuck on a nail like a sticker a vinyl, whether it stays on the nail or is painted over with polish and then peeled off. Is that just me? Am I being the vinyl-equivalent to the person who thinks an ombre and a gradient are the same thing? Enquiring minds want to know!
Anyway, whatever you consider them I have two designs from a new indie brand to share with you! The brand is Kayla Ray Vinyls and today I have both a leave-on decal vinyl and a peel-off stencil vinyl to share with you. :) Check under the cut for more pics and my review of both these products and the brand as a whole!

It's about time we get a new MoYou London Collection and this time they've surprised us with a Mexico-themed line of plates! And I have to be honest - if someone told me to imagine some images that could represent Mexico I would have zero idea what to suggest. It's not a style of art or design I'm too familiar with!
So take a look at the new plates below, and let me know if these scream Mexico to you or if you have different ideas of what they should have (or should in the future!) include. :)

I've been super jealous this past year or so watching the fun events happening state-side around indie nail polish, so you can imagine how friggen excited I was when I heard that we were having our very own event here in Canada - Indie Expo Canada! And I bought a ticket, so I will def be going and telling you all about it!
Who else is excited?!

Hooray, another new brand for me! This is one I've seen around a lot and have wanted to try for a while - Emily de Molly! Since they're based in Australia I haven't gotten around to ordering from them yet, so when a fellow Canadian blogger was destashing some of her pretties I decided to pick these two up.
Since these are both from a destash I'm not able to comment on some of the things I normally would in these posts (for example: shipping and customer service) but if/when I do order directly from the brand or a stockist in the future I will update the post with that info. For now I'll just focus on my thoughts on the brand/polish in general!
