I have an exciting and seasonal post to share with you today! I finally picked up one of MoYou London's Mani Boxes and it's a Halloween box! Hooray! Let's open it and see what we got, okay? Let's go!
So to start with, what was in this box? I'm glad you asked! It contained...
- MoYou London Nail Lacquer in Fresh Basil
- MoYou London Nail Lacquer in Last Dragon
- MoYou London Nail Lacquer in Sweet Wisteria
- MoYou London Nail Lacquer in Winter Green
- MoYou London Punk Collection Plate 05
- MoYou London Festive Collection Plate 16
That's a lot of product for £25.00 / $40 CAD! :) Four polishes and two plates is awesome, as sometimes the box contains two or three polishes and two plates. If you're thinking of picking up one of these Mani Boxes I'd suggest waiting until you see one that's a good deal, as they're all priced the same!
Now let's take a closer look at those plates, okay?
MoYou London Punk Collection Plate 05
The first plate is from the Punk Collection and I like it because it's a multipurpose plate. Yes you can use it for Halloween nail art looks (that skeleton and the cat in the far row, and the laces towards the front especially) but there are also other designs that could be used for all sorts of looks... There's a symbol of the Feminist Movement in the far right corner, there's some tattoo-style stars, and there's that plaid! I think I'll def get a lot of use out of this. :)
MoYou London Festive Collection Plate 16
It also came with a plate from the Festive Collection, which is a purely amazingly Halloween plate. Bats, ghosts, monsters, blood, witches... You have everything you need for a Halloween mani with this plate! I'm excited because I think this is my first (mayyybe second) true Halloween plate. :)
But what about those four stamping polishes that were included in the box? Let's look at those too!
So as I mentioned earlier this box came with four shades of polish: two of them are purple, and two of them are green. Above from left to right we have: Fresh Basil, Winter Green, Sweet Wisteria and Last Dragon. Each is 9ml each which is plenty considering how little polish you need for stamping.
And here they are over both black and white. As you can see they all stamped well over both, though Last Dragon really didn't pop off the black as much as the other, lighter shades. I'm pleased to see the pastels worked well over the black though, sometimes stamping polishes just miss that mark a bit when it comes to lighter shades.
I've used both the polishes and the plates so far (keep your eye open for some nail art using this box tomorrow!) and I'm really pleased with the quality. The images stamp crisply both with my MoYou London stampers and my cheap Born Pretty Store stampers, and the polishes transfer really well.
Overall I think this is amazing value for the box. The plates usually retail from MoYou London's website for £5.99 / $9.58 CAD and the stamping polishes are each £4.99 / $7.99 CAD, so the value of this box is actually around $52 CAD which is awesome for only $40.
This exact box isn't available anymore since their Mani Boxes are limited time products, but they have new ones out every week so be sure to check out their webpage once in a while to see what they have up. :)
That's it for today, but come back tomorrow for some art!! Thanks for visiting! xx
