I'm super excited about this post. As you may remember, square glitters are one of the things that gives me life. I didn't pick up Lights of Emerald City when it first came out and for whatever reason it was impossible for me to find after that (aside from ordering it online). I finally came across it at a beauty supply outlet one day that I stopped in to on a whim. What are the chances! Of course now that I've gotten my hands on it I've been seeing it everywhere, but that's just how life goes. :)

I've always been curious about the Julep Mystery Boxes, but this month was the first time I was actually tempted enough to pick one up. Was I satisfied in the end? Ehhhhhh, moderately.
If you aren't already aware, Mystery Boxes are something that Julep offers every month or so and they are usually based around a theme (St Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, galaxy nails, glitter, etc.). Each one has a brand new shade created especially for the box, and you get a bunch of other mystery Julep products as well. They retail for $24.99 and claim to have a value of $100 included.
As usual each of the three boxes this month had a signature shade you could pick up, and I went with the It Girl Box because Shannon was a silk finish and I loooove Julep's silk finishes. I also chose this box because there were theories that it would have a better polish vs. product ratio as per the usual It Girl boxes. And those theories were correct!

I have all these mini bottles sitting around in my collection and aside from a few of OPI's Mariah shades from last year I don't think that I've done much with them. That's going to change, starting now! :) Mini Mani Monday isn't a unique name by any stretch of the imagination (I can think of at least 3 blogs that use the same series title for different posts - though it should be noted I thought of it independently before searching and finding those posts). For a while I was going to go with "Monday's are for minis!" but Mini Mani Monday (or M3) just rolls of the tongue easier. So there we go. I'm going to try to keep the polishes in these posts exclusively as minis (whether that's swatching or nail art). Let's get started!

I don't know if I gushed enough over how much I loved Julep's January collection back when it was released... So just to drive home the point I put this look together using only shades from that box! It was full of soft and dreamy shades, and what is softer and dreamier than a scattering of vintage roses? :)

|The Vivid Collection as pictured on Julep.com|
I'm having a lot of trouble deciding on which Julep box I want to pick up this month, so I thought I'd share the whole collection with you and see what you think... There's a lot of fun brights, but nothing is really jumping out at me as a need-to-buy (which is too bad because April is my birth month and I really wanted something special). The beauty items this month are blushes and bronzers. I was happy to see they're including a Core Classics box again this month, though I don't love it as much as the one I picked up last month. Take a look at everything and let me know what you think!

OPI Sheer Tints! I’m Never Amberrassed, Don’t Violet Me Down, Be Magentale With Me, and I Can Teal You Like Me!
It took longer than expected but I finally have a full swatch and review post for the OPI Sheer Tints to share with you! You got a preview of their layering ability in my last post with them, but today we have a look at all four of the shades swatched on their own over both white (with one/two/three/four coats) and over nude nails. The reason this took forever is because these polishes are a PAIN to work with on their own. They're lovely for art and watercolour-type nails, but each individually as the star of their own show? Not something I would suggest. I'll tell you more about that later, but first let's get a better look at these colours!

The last fill for the St Patrick's nail art challenge was a freestyle/recreate theme, and since I didn't have much time to put something together (and one of my nails broke before I was able to even start today) the design I'm showing you is actually a nail fail from my day 2 theme (Ireland inspired). I guess calling it a fail is a bit dramatic, but either way it's a mani I was unsatisfied with. As you can see it's supposed to be the flag made up of hand-placed hex glitter. It looked a bit wonky so towards the end I wasn't too careful with my placement, and as you can see I didn't cut glitters to finish the edges. This was a mani that was never supposed to see the light of day, after all! Oh well. Desperate times and all that, right?

The theme for the third day of the Get Lucky challenge was basically St Patrick's Day symbols... A pot of gold, shamrocks, leprechauns or rainbows. As you can see I went with the most colourful option: rainbows!

Continuing on with the St Patrick's Day nails! Woohoo! I'm celebrating this weekend (since I work the night of actual St Patrick's Day), and in honour of that I bring you some lovely Ireland inspired nails!

As I mentioned yesterday, today I bring you another nail art challenge! This one is called the Get Lucky Nail Art Challenge. It's going to last for 4 days, and (as you've probably guessed) it's themed around St. Patrick's Day. First up: shades of green!

It's going to be busy on this blog for the next few days with nail art challenge fills! :) Today I bring you my first fill for Finger Food's Theme Buffet! This week's topic was dots and stripes, so I decided to take some of my favourite polishes from yesterday's post and put together this spring-y accent nail combo.

I have a bit of a different post lined up for you today. :) I wanted to take some time to share some of my favourite polish-related things, since I think it's nice to switch things up from just swatches and nail art from time to time. (Though don't worry, I'll be getting back to those soon enough!) This post covers 5 polish-related things I just can't get enough of. If I come across a bottle that fits one of these categories? You can bet your buns that I'll be planning to pick it up! Haha. :)

Today I have one of the most unique Julep polishes in my collection... Lucky! I had been coveting this polish since I joined up, and the very first free polish code I got (when they implemented the three-box-free-polish policy) I snapped this one up. I though this would be a good way to start of the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day! So let's take a look!

My Julep Maven (Mar 2014) Core Classics Box is here! Review of the Oxygen Nail Treatment, the Freedom Polymer Top Coat and the Julep Cleanup Tool! [pic heavy]
The name of this month's collection was The Riviera Collection. I really wanted to love it. I love the name, I love the beachy vibe... But in the end I decided to pass on the polish shades for this month, and went with a special added box that Julep named the Core Classics Box. It had a bottle of their nail treatment and a bottle of their topcoat, both of which I've been wanting to try. So I gave it a shot! It also came with their new cleanup tool which I totally didn't need but hey I'm not gonna say no to more nail tools. (Anyway, it'll come in handy for something exciting I have in the works...!) Let's take a look!

This post is a few days late, but here's a look at some of my favourite nail-related instagram posts from February. As you can see it was more of a haul month than a nail art month, but that's okay. We all gotta beef up our collections sometimes, right?
Some of my favs are the minis I grabbed up this month... We have the OPI Sheer Tints at the bottom and a set of ORLY minis in the batch on the left! You can also see what my current collection (though it's not up-to-date anymore) looks like on the swatch sticks on the top... That doesn't look like 300+ polishes, but it is!
You can also see my before and after manis (top and bottom on the right) from when I did my G2 drivers test... And I passed! Woohoo! So keep an eye out for me on the Toronto roads, I'll try not to run you over. ;)
If you want to see more you can check out my instagram for larger pics and more info! And as always, feel free to leave links to your own instagram account in the comments of this post so I can check it out.

Today's post is one of my favourites in recent memory! I'm working on my stamping technique, and I always think stamping looks better when it has an interesting base. Glitter-packed crelly for a base? Yes please! :)
