Collage of the Ciate polishes in week 2 of the Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

This post is a bit delayed but it's here now and that's all that matters, right? :) Today I bring you week two of my swatches for my Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar!

I'm revealing/swatching these daily over on instagram but I'm planning to do weekly swatch and review round-ups over here, too. So if you aren't following me over there (which you really should be - fun times over on instagram!) you don't have to miss out on all the fun.

December 7 - Ciaté Loop the Loop

Swatch of Ciate Loop the Loop from the Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Loop the Loop is a gorgeous lemony cream yellow, and this coming from a girl who is not a fan of yellow polish! Would I wear this colour again? Definitely! I think the fact that it's a pastel works in it's favour (for me) since it's not too bold. Pictured here is three coats without top coat, and it applied pretty consistently to my overall experience with Ciaté polishes - streaky for the first two coats but evening out with the third.

December 8 - Ciaté Boom Box

My polish from Day 8 was Boom Box which is an electric blue crelly polish. As you can see three coats (no top coat) still left me with a wee bit of visible nail line, but I really don't mind that. A coat of white undies would clear that right up!

December 9 - Ciaté Mineral Love

Swatch of Ciate Mineral Love from the Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Ooooh, Mineral Love! I love this polish, it's so unique! It's a glitter-packed coral pink with a bold burst of gold shimmer. It sparkles all over the place when you move your fingers around in the light, and it leaves you with a hint of texture. Because of the texture application can be a bit tricky (your second and third coats need to be quite thick to ensure you can manipulate the polish) but if you're willing to put in the work it's worth it. As always I didn't swatch with top coat, but if you did I imagine it would make the whole thing sparkle that much more.

December 10 - Ciaté Prima Ballerina

Swatch of Ciate Prima Ballerina from the Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

I'm not a huge fan of loose glitter, but there are a handful of them in my Advent Calendar so if nothing else I'm going to get used to swatching them as I go through this! Prima Ballerina is a super sparkly purple-leaning fuchsia loose glitter, and I applied it by putting a layer of top coat over my nails and then pouring the glitter on top.

This one looks a bit unnatural because I had to do some hardcore colour editing to get it even slightly colour-accurate... In reality it's a bit deeper/bolder in shade but this was the best I could do unless I wanted to start pulling my hair out. Haha. The actual colour is somewhere between my swatch and the instagram pic below.

December 11 - Ciaté Strawberry Milkshake

Swatch of Ciate Strawberry Milkshake from the Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Strawberry Milkshake is another favourite for me from this week. Look how gorgeous and creamy it is! It's a soft orange-leaning pink and it applied great with three coats (no top coat). Gimme ALL the pastels! *hordes*

December 12 - Ciaté Back to Black

Swatch of Ciate Back to Black pearls from the Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Last week I got white pearls, and this week I get black pearls! These were named Back to Black and when I took a look around my nail art stuff I was surprised to find I don't actually own any black pearls yet! Faceted gems yes, but not pearls. So this is a welcome inclusion! I was worried applying them over Loop the Loop would be too bumblebee-y but I actually really really like how this combo looks! I applied a layer of top coat to my polish and then stuck the pearls right on top.

Lots of great shades this week - every door I open makes me feel more and more pleased with my decision to pick this advent calendar up! I think Strawberry Milkshake, Loop the Loop and the Back to Black pearls would be my favourite but honestly all of these polishes are lovely to me!

If you want to take a look at the swatches from last week you can find them here, and I'll do my best to get week three up asap. In the meantime let me know what your favourite polish (or nail art accessory) has been so far!

Thanks for visiting! Happy Holidays!

    1. Surprisingly no! I applied my top coat and then poured the glitter on, and the extra glitter just tapped off or was able to be brushed away with a dry paintbrush. :)

  12. I love the black pearls, lol! Don't have any either ;) Beautiful swatches of all polishes, and the loose glitter, you make it look soooo perfect!
In case you're interested, Catrice has a similar polish to Mineral Love (because these Ciaté bottles are tiny, right?), it's from their Crushed Crystals line and it is called "Call Me Princess".
