Nail Art // Yellow, Orange and Pink Stamping for When Colors Collide

A few months ago I joined the ladies in When Colors Collide to push myself to try new colour combos. If you're a frequent reader of my blog you'll know that adventurous colour combinations are not my thing AT ALL so this group has been awesome at pushing me out of my comfort zone. This round we had three shades to work with: yellow, pink and orange. My first thought was: "YES, it's gonna be bright!" and my second was "Oh gosh I down own many yellow polishes!" But I made it work!

Review // DavidsTea Cotton Candy Rooibos Tea

Today's post is mixing it up a little bit and I hope some of you out there are interested in it! I don't know if you're aware but I have a serious tea problem. I drink on average 3 cups a day, and since getting a milk steamer/frother last month my tea latte game has seriously shot up. Mmmm latte....

Anyway! In the interest of checking out some of my fav teas and with the goal of also being able to feature some of my several billion (exaggeration) tea cups I'm occasionally going to throw some tea reviews in with all the nails and beauty. Hooray diversification! The idea of reviewing tea at all was also inspired by one of my favourite tea (and polish!) blogs: Tea & Nail Polish! Check her out too, if you want to see more yummy tea!

Nail Art // Romantic and Gothic Rose Nails Decals

* Press Samples

Water decals, water decals, water decals! The easiest way to make a gorgeous mani in minutes. :) At least that's how I feel. Today we're looking at this romantic rose design with lovely and slightly gothic-feeling figure on my accent nail. I think she is just lovely to look at, and I wore this design for quite a while before taking it off because I loved how she looked so much!

Nail Art // Floral Accent Nails with Nicole Diary Decals

* Press Sample

Hello! The lovely people over at Nicole Diary reached out to me a month or so ago asking if I would like to give some of their water decals a try, and I said of course because I love water decals! So today I'm showing you the first of 10 looks that they sent me.

I've tried to use all the sets in a variety of different ways to show off what you can do with water decals and I'm also trying to be a little more adventurous in my colour combos, so watch out! Haha.

Swatch Comparison // Bright Blues from CND Vinylux, Ceramic Glaze and Essie

* Contains Press Samples

So first off, I have a quick story for you. There are supposed to be four bottles pictured above, but silly me gave away one of them before I got around to taking these pictures! (The swatches were already done.) A friend's son is in love with nail polish right now and was sad because all of their polishes chipped quickly. So I gave them a bunch of mine from better brands (including the CND Vinylux shade that is missing here) to see if they worked better for him. So imagine there is a fourth bottle in this picture!

Now. It's a blue-off! Originally I was just going to compare two bright blue CND Vinylux shades I've gotten in the past while, but once I got started I decided "why not, let's add a couple more shades to the mix!" So this is a Four Polish Comparison Post! Woohoo! To the naked eye they might appear to be mighty similar to one another, but when we take a closer look is that what we will find? Let's compare the swatches to find out and put an answer to this question once and for all! (Because obviously this is a question people are asking about these four specific polishes... Haha.)

Nail School Module 2 // Anatomy aka Science aka Oh Gosh This Doesn't Come Easily for Me

It's that time again! Another module started, another module completed! Woohoo.

Me and science and biology aren't the best of friends, though I did like chemistry when I took it in high school. Still, I never took any sciences beyond the base credits I needed, and staying in liberal arts and social services for post-secondary meant I never had to do science ever again. So you can imagine how much I loved seeing the title for this week's module in my TAOND program. Ugh! Anatomy!

    Happy Friday, and Happy Canada Day! I had meant to get some Canada-inspired nails up for you today but I lost the decals I was going to use believe it or not! :( Sad! So instead I'm sharing some bright and bold summer nails that I did a couple months ago. Just pretend they are red and white instead of pinks and greens? And that the stars are maple leaves? Haha.
