Today I have a look that could be considered a nail fail but that I just liked too much to throw away (or put into my upcoming fail compilation)! I didn't scrape the plate well enough before stamping so there's some additional silver throughout the design, but I think the fact that the design is so busy and free already makes the mistakes blend in if you don't look too closely. :)

So my nubbins are still growing out, but with encouragement from a few people on my facebook page I have decided to keep working with them until they're back to normal anyway! Today I have another attempt at a stamping decal. I just feel with so many new gorgeous stamping plates (I got a bunch more in from Born Pretty Store this week on top of all the new MoYou London ones) I need to start stepping up my stamping game!
I'm relatively happy with how this one turned out, even if it took so many tries to get it right that I was too burnt out to do more than one decal nail in the end. Ah well, goals to aim for in the future. Check under the cut for more pics and a run-down of the (new to me) technique I used this time. :)

HPB Presents: The "New To You" January Linkup! Milky White Lace Stamping with the MoYou London Bridal 07 XL Plate
Hooo-eyy that title is a mouthful! Haha.
I haven't wanted to do nail art recently since as you can see my nails are nubbins at the moment. *tear* But when I realized this weekend was the Hobby Polish Bloggers January Linkup I knew I had to do something anyway! I decided to go with some simple stamping. Since the theme for this month is "New To You" I decided to go with a stamping plate that is new to me - one of the many I picked up during MoYou London's last free shipping deal!
Check under the cut for more pics and a look at the whole plate. :)

* Press Release
A few weeks ago MoYou London had a free shipping deal going on and I went a bit overboard when it came to ordering plates. I haven't been able to share any with you yet because my nails all broke (sob) and I'm waiting for them to grow back, but now that I've seen this press release I'm wishing hardcore these had been out when I ordered! I LOVE them!
Check them out and let me know what you think. :)
Say hello to OLLY!
We adore her exquisitely eclectic style and her love for all things geometric. She’s obsessed with peppy prints, bold colour and has a special place in her heart for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
THE HOLY SHAPES COLLECTION
These 5 plates will be available starting this Friday!
Shape ya later,

February is almost upon us! Man, 2015 is going by fast already. Don't you think? :)
Today I have the preview post for Julep's February 2015 Maven boxes, and while none of the colours really spoke to me personally a lot of other people seem to be pretty excited about them. Julep has also presented a new type of polish that they're calling "fizzy" - a jelly base packed with pearl glitter. Currently the only place you can find it is with their new Ada shade which is a featured add-on.
Click 'read more' to hear more about the collection and to see what kind of beauty items Julep is introducing this month, along with the special gift all Mavens will be getting in their boxes!

I finally got to try my hand at some water spotted nails, and boy am I happy with how they turned out! This is a technique I've been wanting to try for ages now but I never seemed to have the time or the right materials to sit down and figure out how it worked. I was worried it was going to be a pain for me in the same way that water marbling is - something everyone else seems to find so simple but that fights me every step of the way. I was really happy to find out that wasn't the case. In fact, I'd say water spotting is one of the easiest techniques I've ever tried! Woohoo!
Check under the cut for a run-down of the technique that worked for me, and a bunch more pics. :)

January is thyroid disease awareness month and several nail artists (including myself) have collaborated in order to spread awareness. I didn't know much about thyroid disease before particpating in this collaboration, so when citruseyes contacted me about participating and learning a bit more I jumped at the chance.
The collaboration is still open, and if you're interested in particpating you can check out he hashtag #TDAMani on instagram. Symbols for thyroid disease awareness are: blue, paisley design, and the butterfly. You can also check out #TDAMani to see the beautiful works above up close.
Check below the cut for a closer look at the design I put together (can you guess which one it is in the graphic above?) and for a lot more useful info about thyroid disease.

|My January 2015 Maven Box with a Plush Pout Lip Crayon, Julep Shelly, Julep Phyllis and Julep Tilda|
My first Julep box of the year! Ahhh yes. :) I know that people have mixed opinions about Julep but I truly look forward to getting my box delievered to my door every month. It's a nice like perk-me-up that I can count on no matter what's going on.
I fully customized my box this month and went with two soft, dreamy pastel polishes and a lip product. All boxes came with a mystery Metamorphic Top Coat polish as well (currently unavailable outside of this month's box) so that was a great bonus. Check under the cut for a full rundown of what I got and a look at all the swatches!

I have a look from the vault to share with you tonight! This was from the beginning of fall last year when I finally picked up the full Maybelline New York Bleached Neons Collection. I love how bold yet softened the shades in this collection are.
These were my "goodbye to fall!" nails and I'm excited to finally be able to share them with you. They make me think of fun and summer and the beach and the warmth - all things I definitely need to be reminded of during the chilly winter months!

MoYou London has announced 4 new plates to be added to their Geek Collection this Friday - and they really have some great designs! At first glance I see a Sherlock BBC design, a Lord of the Rings design, some Star Trek, and I think that's even a Dr Who design! LOVE! Check them all out below and let me know which is your favourite. :) And remember they have a free shipping promotion (including International orders!) running until the 11th, so now is the time to pick up those plates you've always wanted.
Siri is back with 4 new plates for this New year of 2015!
She's not anti-social, she is just not user friendly...
These 4 plates will be released this Friday the 9th January.
Have a great day and Happy New Year!

Today I have a simple look to share with you that uses Formula X for Sephora Brazen as my statement accent nail with Julep Grace on my other fingers to add some gloss. I painted my nails this way as part of the #PinkForLeelah campaign that happened today, and to raise awareness for both Leelah and trans rights in general.
Her name was Leelah Alcorn, she was a teenager, she was trans, and she ended her life because she couldn't see any other way out. I'll let you know this is quite a long (and heavy) post, but I think it's important. I welcome any of you to click the 'read more' if you're open to hearing more.

Hello hello, and happy 2015! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. Did you make any resolutions for the year? I'm not a huge fan of resolutions so I don't have anything planned, but in general I'd like to be more organized with regards to my blogging. We'll see what form that ends up taking, but as of now there are no solid plans.
Anyway, enough catching up. Today I have a fun look to share with you that I doodled while I was swatching some of my Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar polishes. Do you ever get the urge to just play around with polish on your nails, no real plan in mind? I don't do it that often (and when I do 90% of the time it looks horrible when I'm done so I just take it off) but this was one of the times when I did and it worked out, so I decided to share.
