Nail Art and Tutorial // China Glaze Exotic Encounters Gradient Mani + Basic Gradient

I love the combination of dark colours and gold when I'm doing a gradient, so when I first got China Glaze's Exotic Encounters (which is a name that makes me giggle) I knew I had to try it with gold. As predicted I LOVED IT. :)

31 Day Nail Art Challenge Fill: House Baratheon Game of Thrones Inspired Mani

So the next colour I had to do was yellow. I only own two bottles of yellow nail polish, so it was easy to decide that part. After giving it some thought, I decided to do a Game of Thrones design because why not. (RIP Renly)

31 Day Nail Art Challenge Fill: OPI A Roll In The Hague Orange Butterfly Mani

Challenge day 2 was for a mani using the colour orange. This was difficult since I rarely use orange polish. Coincidentally I had just gotten this OPI colour from a sale bin at one of my usual polish stores earlier in the week, so I thought it would be a good chance to use it.

Thoughts/tools/colours and more pics under the cut.

Previous Design: Outlined Cloud Puff Nail Art

Like some of my other older designs, this one was inspired by Nailside's tutorials back in Sept 2011. So the thing was, once I learned how to do the cloud shape I wanted to see what it would look like with different levels of bumps. (In the future, I might try doing it again with all the nails looking the same just to see if I can keep them looking consistent... That'll be a challenge!) Once it was dried I outlined the black with a silver nail art pen to make it more interesting. I like how it turned out!

Previous Design: Laser Accent Tape Mani

This is another old mani I did, from Sept 2011. This was the second time I used tape to make a design and I remember being so amazed at how easy it was... Credit where credit is due, I learned to do this from the tutorials on Nailside. :)

Previous Design: Abstract 80's Neon with China Glaze and OPI

I love love loved this tutorial from Nailside, which I first tried in March 2012. I used neon colours to drive home the 80's theme and really like how the pink looked where it overlapped the blue.

The only thing I don't like about this is that I ended up doing it over an old mani which was just a base of Did It On 'Em with Shine of the Times on top. I didn't love those two polishes together, so I decided to add a real design on top to make it more interesting rather than just wiping it off.

Happy New Year! Man With The Golden Gun Mani + A Nail Art Resolution!

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had something fun to do... I was stuck at work until midnight, so before I left I did my nails up in a mani so I would have something nice to look at all night. So happy to finally make use of the OPI Man With The Golden Gun 18k gold leaf topcoat that I got for Christmas!

I don't normally make resolutions for the New Year since I never follow up with them, but this one I've been thinking about for a while so I thought 'why not!' Yes, I'm finally giving in and doing a nail art challenge. (And I WILL finish it this time!!)

See below the cut for +1 pic of this mani and nail things I'm looking forward to in 2013. :)
