ProcrastiNails 2013 Year in Review

2013 was a long year for me. It was my first time blogging, and even though some months were harder than others to get through I made it through and out the other side. Yaaaay! :) This is actually the longest I've ever stuck with a hobby, and I'm pretty sure at least part of the reason for that was because blogging made me feel like I was accountable to my followers to keep going with it (whether anyone was actually reading my posts or not). So here's to hoping I stick around for many more years yet to come! :D

In celebration of the past year, I bring you a review of my top 5 polishes and nail art designs from 2013, as well as some random stats that you might find vaguely interesting. ;)

#DarkTO

Just a note for everyone to say I'm not dead, but I'm in Toronto where our power has been out for about 2 days with no end in site. To top it all off I've been hit by a horrible cold, too. :( So I'll try to get back to blogging when everything is worked out.

Thanks lovelies. xx

ProcrastiNails' Winter Minis Giveaway! [Closes New Years Eve!]

I don't know about you, but I love mini polishes. They let me try colours that I'm not willing to committ to a full bottle for, and there's something adorable about perfectly shaped mini models of larger bottles. Or is that just me? Hahah. I hope not, because my next giveaway is all MINIS! Mini nail polish, mini earrings, mini hand cream, and who knows what other kind of mini extras.

Swatch-It Sunday: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Frazzle Dazzle and Rosey Shooter

When I'm feeling down I usually stop by the pharmacy on my way home and pick up a bottle or two of cheap nail polish. The last time this happened I picked up two of the glitters from the Sally Hansen Limited Edition Fall 2013 Xtreme Wear Collection: Frazzle Dazzle (the copper glitter) and Rosey Shooter (the red and white glitter with the stupid name). I thought they'd both be cute for simple Christmas manis, and I was right!

The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Dec 13th - Christmas Owls! (Hoo Hoo Hoo!)

So these nails weren't going to see the light of day, and then I remembered that I should be sharing both my successes and my failures... Because learning is a process! And I can't learn if I don't mess up sometimes, right? Right. :) So with that in mind, I bring you my next fill for the 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art... Christmas Animals!!

My Julep Maven (Dec 2013) It Girl Box! Ceila, Shoshanna, and Evelyn Swatches and Review [pic heavy]

We're taking a break from the 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art for a good old fashioned swatch post. Specifically, we're going to look at the swatches from my December Julep It Girl Box. Yaaaaay! This is a funny box for me because I HATED these shades when we saw them in the sneak peak mani (to the point where I almost skipped the box), but in real life oh my gosh they are stunning.

The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Dec 7 - Festive Glitter and Colour!

This is one of those designs that was awesome in my mind, and not-so-awesome when I actually did it. Today's challenge for the 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art was to use festive colours and glitter, and I decided to go outside of the boring red and green glitter and use China Glaze's Glitter All The Way from last year's holiday collection as my centrepiece. Unfortunately the whole thing just didn't mesh as well as I had hoped. It's not terrible, I suppose...

The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Dec 5th - Oh Bring Us Some Figgy Pudding!

Alright, so it's not figgy pudding per se... But it is technically a christmas pudding, so that'll have to be good enough. :) The third fill for the 12 Days of Christmas Nails Challenge is... Food!

Tuesday, 3 December 2013

The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Dec 3rd - Let it snow, let it snow!

My second fill for The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge is for snow/winter... For me, that immediately meant snowflakes! Snow is one of the best parts of the holidays, and there's nothing better than going for a walk when the weather is mild and there are fluffly clumps of snow falling around you.

There are always so many beautiful snowflake manis posted in winter, but I've never tried one for myself. This year that changes! And you know what else? I put together a tutorial for this look, so you can try it too! Keep any eye out for it sometime in the next while, and let me know what you think. :)

The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Dec 1st - Presents for Everyone!

So I was going to wait until later today to post this, but I was just too excited. Today is the start of December, and it's also the start of a new nail art challenge I'm taking part in! It's called The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge, and in theory I'll be posting a new mani for it every other day. (Ohmygosh that's so much!) I've never fully followed a challenge that posted as often as this one, so you'll have to forgive me if I pass on a few of the days this month. I don't plan to, but it might happen anyway.

So! To start off we have my fill for the first day, the theme of which is: presents!

November #instanails

Here's my favourite nail-related instagram pics from last month. :) You can see a shot of the Julep Gem Collection in all it's glory at the top, as well as a few designs I wore that never made it to the blog. The middle left shot is Essie Toggle to the Top, which is a gorgeous shade for winter.

If you want to see more you can check out my instagram for larger pics and more info! As always, feel free to leave links to your own instagram account in the comments of this post so I can check it out. :)

A Mani with Hearts and Dots and Cute

This look was inspired by my current phone case, which is in my opinion the cutest thing in the world. :) I free-handed the heart (look how chubby and cute it is! sldfjsdfs) so it isn't perfect, but I still think this is a supercute look!

Tutorial // How I Remove Glitter Polish! (The One Cotton Ball Method)

Hello hello! A quick tutorial for everyone today... Swatching the colours in the Gem Collection has obviously required a lot of practice removing glitter, and I thought I would share the method I use with everyone... I'd say the whole process takes about 7 minutes, and when you compare that to how long you usually take to remove glitter one finger at a time I bet you'll be impressed! (Unless you already use this technique, in which case you'll be like "Ahhhh, yes.")

Detailed steps below the cut!

The Julep Gem Collection 2013 [Part 1]: Mary, Jordan and Jasmine

Today we start a series of posts swatching the lovelies I got in the Julep Gem Collection. :) I'm going to be doing these 3 at a time, and you can expect to see about a post a week. Today we have the first three from the cool end of the spectrum: Mary, Jordan and Jasmine. I've decided to swatch everything in this collection without undies, so what you will see is a look at the actual polish as-is in real life. Which so far? Doesn't often match up with what it looks like on the site. So that's interesting.

80's Inspired Laser Mani! Zip Zip Zap!

Today you have a look I made playing around with two of the colours that came in the Julep Gem Collection: Echo and Jasmine! I don't know what's up these days, but I can't seem to sit down and make a "normal" looking mani design these days... Everything is tacky and glittery and wonderful. I actually made a design the other day that I labelled "The Tackiest Mani In The World. Legit." Maybe it will see the light of day eventually, maybe not.

I WON JULEP'S NOVEMBER #MYMAVEN CONTEST!! :D

Eeeeeee!! You guys, I WON! I've never won anything nail-related before, this is so exciting!! :D Thank you to everyone who voted for me, it was such a shock to get the email telling me I won... There were so many great entries! If any of you other lovely people out there are Mavens and haven't entered this contest before, I want to encourage you to do so! They run it every month on their facebook page, and the winner gets a $100 giftcard for Julep.com!

So thanks to this, you can expect to keep getting swatches and reviews of Julep products/boxes for a least the next 5 months. ;)

Thanks again everyone!! This seriously made my year.

Swatch-It Sunday: Essie Belugaria

People either love this polish or hate it. Me? I love how it looks, but I HATE the trouble I have putting it on. It's more difficult than any textured polish I've used, hands down. But I like how it looks totally black from one angle (like the pinky in this shot) and yet shows off a riot of colour from the holo glitter from another angle! Love love love. :)

31DC12: Julep Dotted Tips!

This was a creative take on this part of the challenge... Polka dots! I decided to do a delicate dotted design on the tips rather than a standard dotticure, and I'm happy with how it turned out. All of these shades are from my November Julep Maven box, and this was also my entry for this month's #MyMaven contest on facebook. :) (UPDATE: I'm a finalist for the Julep contest! Awesome!! If you can, head over to facebook and look at all the entries and give me a vote if you like mine best!)

My Julep Maven (Nov 2013) Boho Glam Box! Aisha and Alexandra (+ Lola and Sheila Add-Ons) Swatches and Review [pic heavy]

Julep's on the ball this month! My box got here the first week of the month, which is awesome. Usually I have to wait longer and end up seeing everything that everyone else got on instagram before I get to see mine in person (damn you for being based in the states, Julep!), but not this month! :)

It was a tough call this month when it came to what box to choose. The collection was called the Right At Home Collection, and most of the shades were deep and subtle fall colours (which I love). In the end I went with the Boho Glam box which contained lip gloss in Charming as well as Aisha (the lovely deep wildberry) and Alexandra (the white blonde). I also picked up Lola (a deep blue satin/matte finish) and Sheila (the cherry red) as add-ons. I love all of these colours!!

One last note before we get on to the full post: as you're going to notice, my nails are back to nubbins. I debated if I wanted to swatch now or wait until they grew back, but decided in the end to screw it and just swatch anyway. And I'm surprised at how much I don't hate them this length. They might stick around for a while! :3 Also: don't forget to enter my first giveaway! It's open until midnight on Friday!

Swatch-It Sunday: Mariah Carey Collection Liquid Sands Ft. Get Your Number and Can't Let Go

I picked up a mini set of the liquid sands from OPI's Mariah Carey Collection from earlier this year, and never go around to posting the swatches. So today I'm sharing two of my favourites: Get Your Number (a gorgeous bright sparkly blue) and Can't Let Go (a deep shimmery purple).

31DC12: Gradient Newspaper Nails

Yes, I am indeed still finishing a challenge from 2012... Yikes! Haha. Today I have my fill for Day 10: Gradient. I finally decided to try my hand at newsprint nails, which I did on top of the gradient. The print came out a bit splotchy, but I find that I like the look! :) It's more the idea of newsprint rather than a direct image of it. Hmm!

Posh and Sparkling Pink Glitter Tips

Bright pink is not a colour I wear often. I find it bright and a bit tacky and childish. So when I was at the store and picked up a bottle of Rimmel Posh Pink, I had to ask myself "What in the world made me decide to get this and now what am I gonna do with it?!"

The answer to the first part was that it's one of the only Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro polishes I don't already own (I love both the consistency of the polish and the size of the brush) and it was on sale, and the answer to the second part was "Breast Cancer Awareness Mani!" Yes, I realize I'm posting this in November, but this mani was done in October (as you can tell by the length of my nails) and I just haven't had time to get to the pictures until now (and maybe I forgot I had them... oops). So enjoy!

Sunday, 3 November 2013

I gave in. I have no willpower when I'm ill.

Sigh. I may have just bought Julep's Gem Collection from the Secret Store. I thought I could resist it until the store closed at midnight. But in the end the Maven price of $42 (regular $168) got to me. So. Guess you can look forward to swatches of all these lovelies coming up in the next couple of months. :)

What I'm getting:
  • Mary - It Girl: Full-coverage silver microglitter
  • Jordan - Boho Glam: Full-coverage silver gunmetal multidimensional glitter
  • Jasmine - Boho Glam: Starry night blue with silver microglitter
  • Angela - It Girl: Deep sea blue molten
  • Carly - Bombshell: Full-coverage Malibu blue multidimensional glitter
  • Bette - Bombshell: Electric neon purple crème
  • Barbara - Classic with a Twist: Full-coverage magenta multidimensional glitter
  • Echo - Bombshell: Magenta red iridescent multishape glitter glaze
  • Kenya - Classic with a Twist: Red berry microshimmer
  • Oscar - It Girl: Chic gold multidimensional glitter
  • Hilary - Bombshell: Full-coverage copper multidimensional glitter
  • Paris - It Girl: Holographic multidimensional glitter top coat

This collection has two of my favourite Julep polishes ever (Paris and Angela) which I happen to already have, so I guess I'll have to find something to do with the duplicates..... ;) Speaking of, if you haven't already checked out my current giveaway, it's open until November 15! Get those entries in, lovelies!

Did any of you Mavens out there give in and get some holiday goodies from the Secret Store? Not a Maven but looking forward to seeing some of these polishes swatched? Let me know!

Till next time! xx

October #instanails

Here's the round up of my favourite nail-related instagram pics from October. The Captain America-esque nails in the top left corner that I did for Jill were some of my favourites this month. Also, that's my Julep Forget-Me-Nots blooming below! Ahhh, so exciting.

See my instagram for larger pics and more info! As always, feel free to leave links to your own instagram account in the comments of this post so I can check it out. :)

Thanks for visiting! xx

Crackle-y Fall Pumpkins!

Today we have some quick shots of a mani I did last night for fall... Because November is fall, not winter! (I was shocked at how quick some of you jumped from Halloween to winter manis between last night and this morning!) Well, that's not gonna be me. I still have a few looks using fall's colour palette that I want to share. I'm hoping to hold off on winter/Christmas manis until Dec 1st. :)

This is the type of design I meant in my Julep Crackle Craze post when I talked about using crackle polishes in a different and creative way. See, they're still useful for art even if the crackle trend is over fashion-wise! ;) If I had done these for Halloween I could've put little faces on them and made them jack-o-lanterns. Maybe next year.

ProcrastiNails' First Giveaway! Hooray! [CLOSED]

It's time! Time for what? Time for a giveaway! Yaaaaay! This is the first time I've ran a giveaway, and I'm really excited about it. If all goes well I hope to make this a fairly regular occurrence on my blog. :) Consider it a 'thank you!' for all my current lovely followers who interact and support me on a regular basis, and a 'welcome!' to any new followers I pick up while the contest is running. (My only request is that if you choose to follow any of my accounts for entries to this contest you do it because you're genuinely interested. Please don't add and then un-add after the contest is finished.)

Swatch-It Sunday: Revlon Moon Candy in Galactic

This week's swatch is a polish that's been out for quite a while, but is new to me. I'm not a huge fan of the double-ended bottles Revlon has been putting out because I feel like you get so little polish, and I feel like a lot of the nail art ideas they pitch them with (like the chalkboard nails sets) are things you could do easily on your own with polish you already have. :/

My love of flakie glitters (and Target's price of $6) convinced me to try the Galactic set out. Though I'm still not won over on the double bottles in general, once I tried this one I decided that I liked the Moon Candy sets enough to go back and pick up two more of them (in part because it's hard to find good coloured flakies in Canada). Check out more pics of this double set under the cut!

Jelly Sandwiches with OPI and Maybelline!

Jelly Sandwiches! Otherwise known as the process of layering sheer/jelly polishes with glitter to create a whole new look. :) These were my first times giving this technique a try, so take a look and let me know what you think of my combos!

Halloween Skittlette with Decals and Texture and Stripes!! ^v^

Halloween!! One of my favourite holidays of the year. Candy and parties and costumes! What's not to love?! Haha. Today we have the first of (hopefully) a handful of mani designs I put together for the season. One of the blogs I look up to is Fairly Charming, and she's been doing a lot of skittlette looks recently that really inspire me. I got these supercute decals at the dollar store and decided to start off using them in a skittlette mani à la Fairly Charming. :) So here we go!

My Julep Maven (Oct 2013) It Girl Box! Kendra, Ciara and Missy (+ Beatrix Add-On) Swatches and Review [pic heavy]

This week's Swatch-It Sunday post is being replaced with a juiced-up swatch post: my October 2013 Julep Maven It Girl Box! Woohoo! :) I've had these swatched and sitting in my folder for about a week and a half, but better late than never, right?

Nails Inc. Baker Street Blue Swatch and Dotticure!

I was walking through the nail polish section at the pharmacy last month and while I was looking at the Nails Inc. display this vibrant blue jumped out at me. Right off the bat I knew it wasn't really a 'me' colour (I like subtle and pastel and glitter), but once I saw that it was called Baker Street I knew I had to have it. Why? Because I have a Sherlock BBC problem. :) But the fact that the colour was so very much not-me meant that I didn't actually buy the polish until my third trip to the pharmacy. I wanted it but I didn't actually want it. Do you ever have those moments with a bottle of polish? Where you know you need to have it, but don't know if you want it? Haha. Anyway, I eventually picked it up and here we are. :) See below for swatches and more shots of the dotticure I ended up doing with it!

Microbead Gradient with PUPA Milano and Essence!

My dry periods are hitting me hard, and they're hitting me often. :( It's not that I'm not painting my nails, but I just can't bring myself to do more than take a quick instagram pic and move on. And it's frustrating me. I've been able to push through it and capture a few of my favourites, so hopefully you'll be seeing those over the next couple weeks. I also have my Oct Julep box swatched and photographed, so I just have to force myself to edit them and I'll be able to get that out to you. *sigh*

ANYWAY. Last year I supported a friend while she was applying to my alma mater for grad school, and she got in! (Yaaaay Jenna!) In thanks for my help, she got me a gift while she was traveling in Europe: nail art stuff! Haha. She knows me so well. ;) So let's take a look at what I did with the PUPA Milano Nail Art Mania Bubbles Set she got me!

September #instanails

I didn't have time to put this together last month, but here's a collection of my favourite nail-related instagram posts from September. The plan is to do this at the end of every month, since I often post pics of my manicures in-progress or of casual manicures for friends that never make it to the blog. See my instagram for larger pics and more info. :)

And just like last time, please use the comments as a way to share your own instagram accounts, both for myself and other viewers! I'm sure we'd love to check out what you've been up to.

Thanks for visiting!! xx

Julep Crackle Craze: Hermione, Ursula, Sabrina and Glenda Swatches + Review

There have been some gorgeous designs going around recently that incorporate crackle polishes along with nail art. I thought that the crackle trend had died down last year, but it seems to me like it had a mini-resurgence in the past few months (on the blogs I follow, at least)! It's gone away again now, but I was left inspired. And just as I was formulating designs... I learned that my OPI Black Shatter had dried up. :( Nooo.

Thankfully I remembered that I had seen a crackle set on Julep a couple months prior, and once I checked it out and saw that I could get all 4 crackle polishes that Julep had released the previous year for $16.99 (regular $56) I knew I was going to snatch them up before they were discontinued. I'd get my precious black, and then some! Even though I haven't done any nail art with these lovelies yet, I thought I'd share the swatches with you so you could see if you also want to snatch them up before they're discontinued. Enjoy!

Tutorial // Matte Cartoon Mani [pic heavy]

I feel like I haven't been posting as often, so to make it up to you I'm going to share a bunch of fun new things over the coming weeks (namely tutorials and a giveaway)! The cartoon mani I did in August was one of my most popular looks, and as promised I've put together a tutorial on how to do this nail art yourself. :) This time I used turquoise as my base shade and mattified the whole thing. This is my first full tutorial, and I tried to make it as simple-yet-comprehensive as I could. Let me know what you think!

Swatch-It Sunday: Revlon's Indie-esque Polishes - Whimsical and Girly!

So I've been eyeing these two polishes up for a while but I hate hate hate paying drug store prices because things are so marked up. But last week luck was with me because not only were Revlon polishes on sale, but they had both Whimsical (the blue glitter jelly) and Girly (the pink glitter jelly) in stock! So finally these two lovelies are mine!

(Also, I'm introducing a new feature with my glitter swatches starting today .... macros! \o/)

Welcome to Night Nails!

Get it?! HA. So these were my first attempt at Welcome to Night Vale nails. They aren't terrible, though I wish I had used a finer brush to do the details with. Oh well, live and learn! For those of you that don't know what Welcome to Night Vale is, it is an amazing/inventive/creepy/hilarious/charming/eerie podcast in the style of a radio drama that you can listen to for free over here. Here's the official description:
Twice-monthly community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events. Turn on your radio and hide. Welcome to Night Vale.

DIY Textured Chevron Decals in a Skittlette Mani!

My first attempt at making my own nail decals was a success! I was actually working on a tutorial for how to make these decals with different types of polish (cremes, textured, glitter) but ran into a bump, so you get the mani now and the tutorial later. More trial and error on my part means less on yours, right?? :)

31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Flowery China Glaze Rainbow Colour Blocking

A short post today! Basically I'm trying to get both of my current challenges (my own 2013 Challenge and the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge) done before the end of the year, so I've started going through the remaining challenges and planning out some designs. For Day 10 of the 31 Day Challenge I had to do rainbow nails, and I decided to do them differently than how I've seen other fills done in the past. Basically the only thing rainbow about this is that I used a full rainbow-spectrum of colours, rather that doing your common linear rainbow gradient/design. :)

My Julep Maven (Sept 2013) Classic With a Twist Box Arrived! Padma and Florence (+ Daria Add-On) Swatches and Review [pic heavy]

It's been a whole week since I last posted! Oh my gosh! /o\ Where has the time gone...?! To celebrate my mini-return I bring you: the Julep Classic With a Twist Box for September! Yaaaay!

This month we have The Cityscape Collection. None of the colours in the other sets really spoke to me (and I had dupes for most of them anyway) so I decided to go for something other than the It Girl box this month. The box I decided on contained Padma (the deep purple) and Florence (the nude) and a bottle of Bare Face Cleansing Oil, and I decided to get Daria (the slate grey) as an add-on. What can I say? For me fall is a season for more muted colours, and these were the ones that spoke to me. (And to be honest, this is actually my favourite box to-date... Love all of these!)

Stamping with Cheeky Plate CH50 and OPI Get Your Number! :)

Hey lovelies! Just a quick post today of a stamping mani I did with OPI Get Your Number, a Cheeky stamp and Konad Special Polish in White! :) I wish I had taken pictures of this one from a distance because this mani is gorgeous from far away when you can tell there's some type of pattern but can't quite make out that it's flowers. (Not that it's not gorgeous up-close too! Hahah.)

Nail Art // Pinterest Inspired Nail Art Challenge Week 4: Ikat!

So this is the last fill for the Pinterest Inspired Nail Art Challenge I've been taking part it. It was short and sweet, and it let me try out some techniques I hadn't gotten around to doing yet. I had a lot of fun, and I want to thank the other lovely ladies that took part in it with me. :)

This week our challenge was to make an ikat mani. I followed a pin which led to this tutorial by the lovely Brittany @ Brittany's Secret. I said this mani was half-successful because while I'm not 100% happy with it I can tell what it's supposed to be. Just gotta keep thinking that I'll get better each time I try it, right? :)

Swatch-It Sunday: Chapters Indigo Coco & Lulu by Cake Polish in City of Lights and Riviera

Chapters Indigo is carrying a new line of nail polishes called Coco & Lulu by Cake! They only have a handful of colours so far and they're all pretty basic colours, but I picked up a couple last time I was there to try them out. And you know what? I was pleasantly surprised! I'll totally be picking more of these up next time I'm at Chapters Indigo.

From their website:
We collaborated with Canadian beauty brand Cake to bring you our new exclusive collection of 3-free nail lacquers in the season’s most-wanted hues. It’s specially formulated for a long-lasting, high gloss finish and free of bibutyl phthalate, toluene, and formaldehyde. 0.5ml/0.5 fl.oz.

Success! Rimmel London Cartoon Nails!

My nails are nubbins right now, so I've been trying to come up with designs that look better on short nails. This is a design I've been meaning to try for a while and I AM SO HAPPY WITH HOW THESE TURNED OUT! Ahhh, oh my gosh. Hahah. This was my first time trying cartoon nails, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were. This is definitely a design I'm going to be playing around with in the future. :D

Blog Your Heart Out Award Nomination!! :)

Hello hello! The other day I was nominated by the lovely Ithfifi @ Ithinity Beauty for the Blog Your Heart Out Award. :)

The way this award works is you are given 5 questions to answer, and then you have to nominate 5 other blogs you follow that have less that 100 followers. It's a way to help new bloggers get new followers, and to share blogs that really inspire you that others might not know about.

My questions and nominees are below!

Pinterest Inspired Nail Art Challenge Week 3: Free-hand Chevrons!

This week for our pinterest inspired challenge we are doing chevrons! This is one that I was looking forward to, since I've never actually tried a chevron design before. EXCITING! Hahah. :)

When I started this mani I was planning to use my chevron craft scissors, but they fought me every step of the way no matter what tricks I tried (painters tape, scotch tape, tape on wax paper, sharpening the scissors, etc.). Thankfully all the other design scissors I got all work just fine, so you'll be seeing some looks with those in the future! Anyway, since the tape wasn't working all of the chevrons you see in this mani were freehanded with a mid-length striping brush and a lot of patience! I won't tell you how long this mani took, but I love how it turned out.

Complementary Colours Gradient and Gel Pen Doodles

This was my first attempt at using gel pens in a mani, and I'm not too happy with the results. But the picture I posted of this mani on instagram was surprisingly popular, so I decided to upload some pics of it here anyway.

The colours used in this mani are actually bright green (not yellow - I know it looks yellow) and purple, which pop nicely because they're complimentary. I'm trying to get more adventurous with my colour selection and combinations, so this was actually the result of me closing my eyes and randomly choosing colours out of my OPI box. :)
