Throwback Thursday (Vol 6)

It's been a while since we've had a throwback post, hasn't it! So let's fix that now. :) Today I have some nail art, a review of a product that claimed to make your polishing life easier, and a look at a feature that has since disappeared from my blog. Check under the cut to see what I'm talking about!

My Julep Maven (May 2015) Customized MyMaven Box Unboxing, Swatch and Review!

My May 2015 Maven Box with Get in Line, Don't Leave Your Brows at Home and Julep Denise

I need to apologize because I've been sitting on this post for a while but real life got the best of me! Can you believe my Julep Maven box for May actually arrived at the end of April? Julep's gotten so much better at their delivery times! Wow!

Today I have a look at the unboxing and swatches from my May 2015 Customized Julep Maven box. The theme this month was the nautical Set Sail Collection and unfortunately the colours didn't jump out at me so I only picked up one new shade - Julep Denise. The good news is there were a few previous beauty products I'd wanted to get my hands on so this gave me an opportunity to pick them up. So let's get right into it - check under the cut for the full unboxing!

Rainbow Ikat Gradient with the OPI Color Paints

Rainbow ikat nail art using the OPI Color Paints

So I'll be the first to admit that sometimes I make snap judgements with little to no proof behind them. And once I make up my mind about something I'm stubborn enough that it's very difficult to sway me. However there's also this really weird and inexplicable phenomenon that happens to me where I'll decide I passionately dislike something, only to ultimately end up loving it more than anything else ever once I give in and try it. It's happened with bands, movies, food, people, all sorts of things. Still following?

Well, the reason I'm talking about this now is because the most recent victim to this yo-yo attraction is the OPI Color Paints. I irrationally disliked them at first (So much hype! Just for a line of jelly polishes! What!) only to end up purchasing the ENTIRE collection once I came across it, and now that I've tried them I can't imagine not having them in my life. Like... You need to run out and get them right now. The hype is real!

Check under the cut for a better look at how amazing these are and for more of my ramble-y (yet passionate!) thoughts about them!

Tropical Gradient and Stamping with China Glaze and MoYou London

Whenever I get a collection of polishes I always get the urge to make gradients with them. Most times if they came from the same base collection they'll work together really well (even if at first it doesn't seem like they will), which is one of the joys of having the full curated collection (or at least a partially full collection).

The base colours I went with today are all from the China Glaze Road Trip Collection, and I decided to stamp on top of it with a fun and flowy pattern from one of my themed MoYou London plates. Can you tell which collection the plate is from, or what kind of theme it had? Take a guess and then check under the cut to see if you're right!

[May 30 Days of Colour: Gold] Zoya Bar Swatch and Review

Some days you just need a good over-the-top glitter on your nails, and for me that's sometimes when I feel stuck with the blahhhhs. One of my sure-fire pick-me-ups is Zoya Bar - a gold textured Magical PixieDust packed with all sizes of scattered holo glitters. It makes me feel like my nails are going to the ball and helps me to forget any other issues going on each time I catch a glimpse of my nails. You're going to want to check under the cut because I think it's even more stunning with top coat!
