Fair Maiden Polish Fallen Snow

Today I'm sharing another favourite with you - this is Fair Maiden Polish Fallen Snow, and it's a polish I've had in my collection for a while now but haven't been able to share with you until now. :) There are just too many polishes to get through! Haha.

This polish was made as a tribute for Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, which I have to admit I haven't watched for the past couple of seasons. I can still love the polish though, right?

Swatch of Fair Maiden Polish Daredevil

I have a quick swatch to share with you today that I found in the depths of my older nail photos. I can't believe I waited so long to share this since this is one of my all time favourite polishes! It's an amazing colour, especially in the summer time when you feel like rocking a neon.

So I've finally fallen down the sheet mask hole that everyone else seems to have fallen down... I can't go into Winners without coming out with at least one mask. (And often more!) There are just so many options to try!

To restrict myself even a little bit I've decided to set a limit for myself: every time I go in I can only spend $15 on masks. I've had some hits and misses, and today I'm showing you one of my recent shopping trips.

A few months ago I picked up a stamping plate with a gradient space - a large etched rectangle that you can paint numerous colours on, and which creates a gradient as you repeatedly scrape over it.

This weekend I decided it was time to give it a test drive, and I've got to say I was pleasantly surprised with how it worked out!

One of my mom's favourite genres is murder mysteries, so when I was thinking up themes for this week that's one that I knew I wanted to do. I decided to use my MoYou Comics plate that I've used for pop art looks in the past (like this one). All it took was being selective in which images I used and a murderous colour palette and pop art turned to drama! FUN. Hahaha.

Day three for our DD 'Story Genres' theme came to me much easier than yesterday's look did... As soon as I thought of doing something around tragedy the ideas just came flying in! And since my nails aren't currently stained (#nailbloggerproblems) I could do some negative space with the look, too!

I'm already a day behind, arrrrghh!! You guys remember how I thought this week would be so easy? Not true - I've hit a roadblock already, only two days in. :( I gotta push through it though, I'm sure it will pass...

Today's mani is my second look for DD's week of 'Story Genres' and this time I went with some comic book / superhero nails. That's a genre, right? It is for me, shhh! Haha.

And before you say it, yes I know the Captain America shield is the wrong colours - I wanted more the general vibe of superheroes rather than a direct copy of the shield imaging. And I really like how it turned out!

This month the DD ladies and I are doing nails around the theme of 'Story Genres'! I think this is a super fun prompt, and even though I am already a bit behind on my fills for this round (oops) I have a ton of ideas I'm planning to try!

Today I'm going with a theme of Chick Lit or Modern Romance novels... Those sappy sweet stories with a hint of drama or conflict that end with everything being roses and hearts and everyone securely with their loves. :) My favourites used to be the Shopaholic series, but I haven't read those in ages. Sometimes it's nice to just read something light and fluffy, you know? Maybe I should pick them up again!

I have a very quick post to share with you today featuring a look I threw together with some full nail water decals and some microbeads. :)

I recently ordered some mega packs of water decal sheets from AliExpress... I think it was something like $5 for 30 sheets? I got three sets of them so I have water decals for YEARS now, haha.

I decided to pair this one with some gold microbeads in the center of the flowers for some depth and I really like how it turned out.

Hello loves! Today I'm looking at some new stencil guides from Born Pretty Store, this time ones that have a combination of zig zags and chevrons. :)

I decided to make stencils with them which was a bit of a pain but worked out in the end. Reminder for next time: when you sponge on multiple layers of a gradient over a stencil, you need to pain a coat of top coat over the whole thing before peeling back the guide or the whole thing will just come up and you will have to start again! Ugh! Haha.

Today's look was the end result of me playing around with some of the new BPS products I had ordered. I always love polishes with circle glitter so when I saw that I could just buy some straight-up circles of glitter to use in my own nail art I jumped on it!

I have four different sets of colourful circles now, and for my first mani playing around with them I decided to do these side french glitter placement nails. At least, I think that's what they're called? When you do the french tip curve but along the side of the nail instead of the bottom? If you have a different name for it, let me know in the comments! :)

This mani was super simple and quick to do - I started with a base of my go-to white (Ceramic Glaze Pure) and then laid down a layer of regular (non quick-drying) top coat and placed my glitter with a plastic cuticle pusher.

The glitter I used was from this option on BPS - on sale for 99c. Pick 'em up if you want 'em! It has a mix of pink, blue and gold foil holo in a bunch of different sizes all mixed together.

Mannnn I love these nails! One coat of top coat smoothed them down enough that they weren't really catching on anything (which is always a concern for me when large or shaped glitter is involved) and the holo foil that the glitter is made of made a whole rainbow of colour flash across my nails when I moved them. :)

Do you play around with loose or large glitter options much? Does this look like something you would try? Let me know!

Thanks for visiting! xx

It's been a while since we've had a throwback post around these parts! I love posts like this because they kick-start my inspiration by forcing me to look back and some of the most creative looks I've done in the past. Today we have a variety of nail art looks from 2016 to look back at!

We all have days when we're lacking in inspiration, right? Well, that's me this week. I have no challenges that I'm taking part it right now, I don't have many posts waiting in the wings ready to be posted, and I haven't gotten any new products that are jumping out at me to be reviewed.

To try to get myself out of this slump I decided to brainstorm some new post ideas. And to share the love I decided to write them out so you can be inspired, too. :) So if you're a nail blogger looking for your next post idea, read away! And be sure to send me a link if you decide to do any of these - I would love to read it!
