I have a #notnails post for you today of some facial oils I got to try from Chick Advisor a couple weeks ago. I adore using oils for cleaning and moisturizing my skin so when I got the offer to try these ones out I jumped at the chance. We're looking at two different oils from Lipidol today: their Cleansing Face Oil and their Overnight Face Oil. One is a win and one is a pass for me - check out which is which under the cut!
Lipidol Cleansing Face Oil
The Cleansing Face Oil retails for $8.97 (125 mL) and applies a bit differently than other oil face cleansers I've used in the past. First you apply the oil to your (dry) face and then you add a bit of water to your hands and rub it in on top of the oil and it all foams up into a watery cream. I really like the oil-to-cream thing, it makes me feel like I've really gotten everything off once I've rinsed my face!
My one complaint with this product is the smell - it's has a very chemically, medicinal scent to it that I did not like. Other than that it worked well, but for me unfortunately scent is a deal breaker so I definitely won't be picking this product up again. :(
Lipidol Overnight Face Oil
I liked the Overnight Face Oil more than I liked the cleanser, hooray! It also retails for $8.97 but for a smaller amount - you only get 50 mL because you need far less.
This oil is used as an overnight face moisturizer - you just apply a bit to your face before bed and wake up with more rejuvenated, moisturized skin! I was worried when I first tried this oil because I didn't like the idea of going to bed with (literally) oily skin, but it didn't seem to wipe off on my pillows and it was all gone in the morning when I woke up without any leftover greasy feeling.
And the scent is lovely! It's a gentle earthy floral scent that didn't set my allergies off, so that's a win for me.
So the overnight oil was a win for me, but I would pass on the cleansing oil. It worked well but that scent really didn't sit well with me. Both are fairly reasonably priced though, so if you want to give them a try you can pick them up at your local Walmart and see for yourself how you like them. :)
Have you ever tried Lipidol products? Do you think you'd like to give these ones a try? Let me know!
Thanks for visiting! xx

Great review on both items. The overnight oil sounds really nice.
ReplyDeleteA very good review! Scent is very important to me and something that I use in my face has to smell good or not at all for me to appriciate it.
ReplyDeleteGreat review i have to agree if I don't like the smell of a product I'm less likely to want it on my skin x
ReplyDeleteI hate oils for removing makeup/cleansing but I love them as moisturizers!
ReplyDeleteI have definitely jumped the bandwagon of oil cleansers-- I feel a little wary of using oil as a moisturizer, but this overnight oil sounds very nice!
