Nail Art // The Digit-al Dozen Does Paper: My First Holo Foil Nails

by - Friday, June 16, 2017

It is the last day of DD week and to be honest when I sat down to do these nails I had NO idea what I was going to do. Originally I was going to do a newspaper mani (where you apply newsprint to your nails with rubbing alcohol) but I couldn't find any newspaper in my house and it was too late to go out.

So instead my eye caught on the foil nail kit by Finger Paints that I picked up on clearance from Sally's ages ago and went "Foil is a form of paper. Foil nails it is!" I've never used foil paper successfully so I was a bit nervous, but these turned out awesome!

I started off with one of my new polishes from Indie Expo Canada - Great Lakes Lacquer Love at Hyatt Regency. It's a gorgeous blurple creme with a hint of blue shimmer in the right light.

When it was dry I applied my foil glue and then stuck on holo pink and silver foil in a random pattern. So fun to do!!

I decided it needed a little extra something so I also stuck on some circle glitter I ordered from Born Pretty Store a while ago. And ta-da!

The one thing that annoyed me was that the pink foil bled a bit onto my top coat when I applied it, so I would be worried if I applied the pink over a white base that it might bleed into it. :/ Something to be aware of next time I do this technique, I guess!

Have you done foil nails before? Do you like them? Let me know! :)

Thanks for visiting! xx
