I’ll admit I had a bit of trouble finding a polish for today. Apparently I don’t pick up many brown polishes and those that I do are all China Glaze! Huh! Ultimately I decided to go with China Glaze Community from the Limited Edition The Giver Collection.
When I was a kid I looooved the book The Giver. I was really excited at first when I heard they were making a movie, but as time went on and I heard more things about it I got less excited and more disappointed. I didn’t even end up seeing the movie, so I can’t say if it was any good or not. Because of that I kind of shunned this collection when CG first put it out. I ended up grabbing a few from the clearance bin a while back and while I do like the colours I have just looking at the bottles brings up some of my slightly bitter feelings… Grrr.
Community is one of three shades I picked up from this collection, and it’s a warm brown crème that has great coverage. I only needed two coats (no top coat) to build up to full opacity and I have a feeling this one might be okay for stamping, too. I’ll definitely need to give that a try, a girl never has enough stamping polishes!
Overall I like the colour but I don’t really wear browns on their own that often. I can see pulling this out for trees or animal nail art though, especially since I’ve realized I don’t own many browns. And hopefully the feelings that come connected to the movie will fade with time. 😉
