2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar Swatches! [December 13 to 18]

Swatches from week 3 of the 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Hello hello! Bet you thought I'd forgotten about these, right? :) Not to worry! We have this week and one more before we're done looking at the polishes from the 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar and I'm committed to getting them out to you before the end of February. This week we have some cooler shades and some gorgeous holos, so let's get right into it!

December 13 - Ciaté London Superficial

Swatch of Superficial from the 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Superficial is a gorgeous deep turquoise creme and it's a shade that I think will transition well from winter to spring. :) As you can see at the bottom of the bottle this is one that separates a bit when left alone, but that doesn't impact the colour or quality of polish that comes out on the nail. It was opaque in three coats and is pictured here without top coat. Ciaté London has such a great shine on their cremes!

Here's a look at the original instagram reveal:

December 14 - Ciaté London Beach Bum

Swatch of Beach Bum from the 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Next up is Beach Bum which is a sandy beige creme. I think this is a great neutral and I can already see myself using it for some sand/beach inspired looks in the summer! Pictured here is three coats without top coat and it application was great.

December 15 - Ciaté London Let It Snow

Swatch of Let It Snow loose glitter from the 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Ohhh my gosh let me tell you about Let It Snow. This was another loose glitter that I was a bit worried about, but like the last glitter from this advent calendar it went on really easily poured over a single layer of polish. It's a stunning silver scattered holo, and when you get the right light it's like friggen rainbows exploding on your nails. Here's a shot under different light to give you an idea:

Stunning, right?! Let's take a quick look at the original reveal - LOVE the quote! Holo is a colour that looks good on everyone imo, so I guess it's the best colour in the whole world! ;)

I also took a quick video of this one after I swatched it because I was so stunned at that gorgeous holo:

December 16 - Ciaté London Knee Highs

Swatch of Knee Highs from the 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

I think Knee Highs is my favourite from this week! It's a deep navy shimmer that went on perfectly with two coats (no top coat). I've already used it as a base with silver stamping and can tell you it's just as awesome matte as it is glossy.

Here's a look at the original reveal + quote from instagram:

December 17 - Ciaté London Apple & Custard

Swatch of Apple & Custard from the 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

Apple & Custard is the only green in the advent calendar this year (which I don't mind since green isn't a favourite polish shade of mine) and shockingly it's a green I like! It's a cool pastel that went on fairly well with three coats. It was a bit streaky at first but that evened out with subsequent coats. It's pictured here with no top coat.

And here's the original instagram reveal:

December 18 - Ciaté London Confetti

Swatch of Confetti over Superficial from the 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar

The last polish for this week is Confetti (swatched here over Superficial). This is the polish version of Let It Snow - a silver scattered holo. What you see is one coat so the glitter payoff is really good, and I imagine with three or four coats it could build up to full (or almost-full) opacity.

Here's the original reveal:

And that's it for week 3! We have one more week to go so I'll work on getting that out to you soon!

What's your favourite colour from this week? Do you feel a connection with any of the reveal quotes?

Thanks for visiting!

    1. Agreed, those are lovely shades. :) I really need to find more creative ways to use loose glitter so I can pull Let It Snow out more!

  3. Wow for Let It Snow! I need a textured polish like that because I so cannot be doing with loose glitter.

    1. AGREED! I was hoping Confetti would be more full-coverage when I tried it, but I guess it would be close if you built it up with a few coats.

    1. It's so easy to get behind with things like this, since you have to wait until you have enough opened to make it worth the time to swatch. I love the calendar though, and I'll def be picking one up next year too. :)

  6. I've never tried that brand before. Your swatches are convincing me that I should.

    1. This calendar was my first real try with Ciate and I've been pleasantly surprised. :) The only issue is most of them take 3 coats to even out/reach full opacity, but if that doesn't bother you they're great!

    1. With basecoat/undies no - as soon as I see a deep blue/green I don't even chance it. On naked nails I'd say there's a good chance.

  12. Nail polish advent calendars are always a big temptation for me. I've never found a Ciatè polish I've really wanted though.
