Nail Art // Tweed Nails Featuring Bar Glitter for Tweed Day
Day 3 of The 30 Days of Colour is to do nails for Tweed Day! Did you know Tweed Day was a thing? Me neither! But here we are! Haha.
I decided to try to incorporate a type of nail polish that is rarely used (by anyone) but the names of which (in this collection at least) imply it's core use should be to do tweed manicures... bar glitter! The name of this one? Tweedy!
Check out more below!
I started out with two coats of the soft yellow Color Club Macaroon Swoon and then gave a couple swipes in each direction of Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Tweedy. After that I smoothed everything down with a layer of top coat and then added some tweed-inspired lines with black and white acrylic paint. Another layer of top coat and some of my trusty Essie Matte About You and we're good to go!
Honestly? I think this is a great use for bar glitter! The clouds have parted and the sun is shining on this manicure, and finally bar glitter has a purpose in my life! A tad dramatic? Haha, maybe. But it's true! I'm pumped about how great this turned out, and it wouldn't be as striking without those little bars of black and white glitter. :)
What do you think about this use of bar glitter, is it something you would try? Let me know!
Thanks for visiting! xx
