I'm always on the lookout for a good hand cream so I was excited to try out Julep's intensive care offering when it was available as an add-on a while ago. Periodically my hands dry out so much that it almost hurts. And nothing makes a good mani look bad like a backing of cracked, dry skin. Ew, right?

Julep Luxe Care Hand Crème
Price: $20 ($16 Maven) for 2.5 oz
Description: An intensive moisturizer that leaves skin indulgently, noticeably soft (but not greasy). Treats dry, chapped hands to the nourishing benefits of glycerin and Power Cell Complex™, a Julep-exclusive blend of age-defying, skin-boosting, ultra-hydrating ingredients including: Rosehip seed oil (delivers essential nutrients to soothe and repair), Malvaceae Lipid Extract™ (improves barrier function so skin retains moisture), and Green coffee bean oil (invigorates skin & promotes cell turnover).
Julep suggests applying the product to "trouble spots" or patches where your skin is the most dry. I found it worked just as well as an all-over hand moisurizer or as a targeted rough patch moisturizer. You don't need to use much, though even using just a bit you will find that it takes a bit of time to fully dry. But as soon as it's dry your skin will feel smooth and silky, which is awesome. For really rough patches (like a dry elbow or a patch on my hand) it took a few applications throughout the day to see a difference, but the difference was there.
I'll admit when I first opened my box containing this moisturizer I was surprised at how small it was. Once you realize you don't need to use much it doesn't seem quite as small, though I still wouldn't pay full price for it. To make the cost worth it you probably want to wait until it goes on sale. (I've seen it as low as $5 before.) I also loved that the container seals tight and is perfect to throw in your purse. That's where mine lives now - perfect for pulling out at work or during a commute.
I'm really sensitive to scents and sometimes with moisturizers that can be the deal-breaker for me. Thankfully the scent with this one is almost non-existent. If it smelled like anything (when you put your nose right up against your skin) I would say slightly waxy but in a good way, if that makes sense to anyone.
Julep describes their Luxe Care Hand Crème as the ultimate intensive moisturizer, and overall I was really pleased with it! It worked wonderfully for me and I love not having to worry about it opening up in my purse. The subtle scent and small amount needed just seal the deal. :) I would definitely recommend this moisturizer if you're looking for something new to try, though I wouldn't suggest buying it at full price for the size you get.
Have you tried Julep's Luxe Care Hand Crème before? Does it seem like something you would be interested in trying? :)
