Day 17 of the 31 Day Challenge! Let’s do this!
Today’s theme was glitter, and I decided it was finally time to try my hand at loose glitter. Now that I’ve done it all I can say is DAMN. That’s a lot of clean-up. But it’s done, and it looks lovely, and though it’s definitely a process I have to work on streamlining I love the results. To make this fill as glitter-ific as I could I also did a bit of glitter placement on my alternate nails because really you can never have too much glitter.
I’m calling these cocktail nails because that’s the name I was told for the three finger/two finger look last time I did it. My base for all of them was Julep Nellie. After taping off my ring and pinkie finger in hopes of easier clean-up I did another thin coat of polish and then dipped them in some GOSH Nail Glitter in Ruby Red (though really… this is magenta). It took about three coats (!!) of Seche Vite to smooth them out and gloss them up. My other nails got a small scattering of individually placed diamond glitters.
I felt like a pink glitter ball with these nails, they were so fun! I definitely want to do more loose glitter work in the future so if you have any tips or tricks I’d love love love to hear them!
Glitter is always fun, so don’t forget to check out the other awesome glitter looks below:
I haven’t actually started my nails for tomorrow yet, so it’ll be a race against time to see if I get them done tonight before bed or tomorrow before work… I always get a rush from deadlines though, so it’s all great fun. 🙂
Let me know what you think! Thanks for visiting!!
