Swatch-It Sunday: Essie Lots of Lux

Here's another polish from Essie's Encrusted Treasures Collection from 2013. I didn't intend to pick up any shades other than Belugaria, but then my Shoppers Drug Mart had to go and put the whole collection on sale. So. Here we are. :)

Lots of Lux is a shimmery dark blue textured polish, and to be honest it went on like a dream. Pictured here is two coats, and I found that unlike most textured polishes and glitter polishes this one was really easy to clean up around my cuticles. It didn't leave a lot of blue smudges or many stray glitters!

The easy clean-up along with this gorgeous deep blue colour probably mean this polish is going to stay at the top of my list for the next while. The colour is just so rich, and as far as I'm concerned you can never go wrong with a bit of texture! And when I say a bit, I mean it. Obviously you'll notice the texture (especially if you're not used to wearing it), but it's not as bumpy as Essie Belugaria was, and it's not as bumpy as the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat's were. It's similar to Julep Tracy, if you've tried that one.

I'm happy Shoppers decided to push me into picking this one up, because I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like it! But look at my little nubbin nail on the end there... Ahhhh. That's part of the reason I haven't been posting as much, because I've been waiting for it to grow back. But today I decided enough was enough, and I was going to get my polish on nubbin or not! *fist pump* So here I am. :)

Let me know what you think about Lots of Lux, and let me know if you keep on doing and photographing your nails even with breaks and nubs of if that's a sign for you to take a break! I'm interested to hear your input.

Thanks for visiting!! xx

  1. I rarely wear blue because I don't like it on myself but it looks very pretty =) I don't paint my nails when they're short unless it's a nude colour because they draw attention to my chubby fingers and I don't like that lol

  2. Ha, I *NEVER* stop painting my nails! If I have a break/nubbin, I bandaid the hell out of the finger, lol, so it seems I have a legit reason to "hide" that particular one - ingenious, I know :D
(don't know what I'd do if I were a blogger; though I do appreciate bloggers that do continue to post - why not, of course these things happen)

Ah, the polish.. I can see it's nice and all, but blue really isn't my colour. Love the texture, though :)

  4. I love the vivid dark blue color, and the texture looks great! It would be gorgeous with some silver striping tape or studs on it :)

  5. Your nails looked so gorgeous I hadn't even noticed your nubbin ;) Guess what I'm saying is, I wouldn't worry too much about it...
Essie Lots of Lux is AMAZING - hands down my fav, too. Did find it kinda difficult to remove at the end of the week, but it looks so gorgeous that I will let that slide, hehe...
