ProcrastiNails: Step Into Summer: Citrus Fruit! Om nom nom

This mani sucked up all of my energy. Not because it was difficult, but because I kept rushing things and it’s super humid so nothing was drying and I kept messing it up. UGHH. Anyway, this is for the Step Into Summer Challenge, and is my submission for Favourite Summer Fruit. For me: citrus! Lemon, orange, lime and grapefruit. :3

This was actually my third try at this general look! The first I was doing a coloured-to-white gradient with fruits stamped and my gradient was being fussy. The second I tried doing a tape mani to divide the white from the colours with the stamps on top of that, and when I stamped it it smooooshed the other layers and gave them wrinkles. This was my third try, and I decided just to photograph it and be done with it. lol. The stamping is far from perfect, but that’s a technique I’m still working on. 🙂

I started this mani with three coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On, then used the bottle brushes to do the bumps with China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, China Glaze Roguish Red (total lie, this is an obvious orange), Julep Mackenzie and Sinful Colors Hazard. The stamping was done with Konad’s m55 plate and Konad Stamping Polish in White.

CG Yellow Polka Dot Bikini is actually a super bright neon yellow, but you can’t tell that in these pics. Damn neons! SC Hazard is also more pink than orange irl, but I’ve learned my camera HATES light peachy-pink shades. Wawon.

And there we go! Check out the other awesome designs that have been done for this challenge, too! 🙂

Thanks for visiting! xx
