Think ‘Pink’ for Day 4 of the 30 Days of Colour Challenge! When the Nicole by OPI Modern Family shades went on clearance last year I picked up a whole bunch of them but (as is a theme for me) they just sat in my Helmer, untouched until now! I’ve pulled one of them to share with you for today’s theme – this is She’s Lily Something!
She’s Lily Something is a sheer pink iridescent shimmer topper with scattered bright pink star glitters. You do have to fish a wee bit for the stars but there are so many in the bottle that it is zero trouble. Turn it upside down and let it rest before applying and they’ll be very easy to grab. I applied three layers of the base shimmer along with the stars, and sealed it with top coat to smooth the edges of the stars – I find shaped glitter tend to stick up a bit with how curved my nails are so top coat is a must for me.
My base was OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (the first off-white I grabbed) which is a slightly dirty white. I think if you layered this topper over a bleached white polish instead it would pop more.
I love how you can see the iridescence of the shimmer in this picture… You can also see that wee bit of lifting on the starts that I mentioned, but to the naked eye it isn’t enough to trouble with really.
Will I use this polish very often? Probably not. If I need some pink stars than yes, but I have quite a few iridescent shimmer toppers so even though this is lovely it will probably go back to bed in my Helmer for the foreseeable future. Still, I think it was a fun pick for this challenge. 🙂
Here’s the other ‘Pink’ looks that were put together:
