February is almost upon us! Man, 2015 is going by fast already. Don’t you think? 🙂

Today I have the preview post for Julep’s February 2015 Maven boxes, and while none of the colours really spoke to me personally a lot of other people seem to be pretty excited about them. Julep has also presented a new type of polish that they’re calling “fizzy” – a jelly base packed with pearl glitter. Currently the only place you can find it is with their new Ada shade which is a featured add-on.

Click ‘read more’ to hear more about the collection and to see what kind of beauty items Julep is introducing this month, along with the special gift all Mavens will be getting in their boxes!

Julep Glow Highlighting Powder and Julep Fan Brush

My makeup knowledge is pretty basic so I have to say the brightening products introduced this month don’t do much for me. Maybe some of you will feel differently!

The first two new beauty items that are being introduced are the Glow Highlighting Powder and the new Fan Brush. The powder is described as “an ultralight powder luminizer that feels weightless and looks flawless,” while the brush is “an ideal shape for applying highlighting powder to your face & body.”

Julep Illume Eye Brightener

The other new item being introduced to Julep’s beauty pile is the Illume Eye Brightener which is available in two shades (pink for pale/light skin and champagne for all skin tones) and is described as “a lightweight eye illuminator (great for face, too!) that doesn’t fade away.”

Julep Hartleigh (Free Gift)

Just like last February, Jane and the Julep team have decided to gift us with a special Valentine’s polish in our Feb boxes. Hartleigh (Classic with a Twist) is “a glitter lover’s dream come true—is Jane’s gift to Mavens this February. You won’t see it when you checkout, but it will be in your Maven Box!” It looks like it’s going to be a pink, red and white glitter topper with some heart shaped glitter mixed in. Not the most unique Valentine’s glitter but I’m still looking forward to it. 🙂

You can also get Hartleigh in the currently featured Intro Box for new Mavens, so check that out at the end of the post or in my sidebar!

About the Julep Maven Program: The Julep Maven program costs $24.99 a month and is fully customizable, or you can pre-pay for 3 months and receive each box for $19.99. You can also upgrade to the Maven Luxe program for $39.99 a month ($34.99/mo if you pre-pay for 3 months) which entitles you to a fully customizable box plus one additional product per month. You can skip or send to a friend anytime!

Like I said at the beginning of the post, even though others seem to be really excited about this month’s polish colours I’m not really feeling them. I feel a lot of them are too similar to other shades I have and the one slightly interesting polish (Becky – the silk duochrome) is just Blakely with a matte finish. Give me back my textures and glitters and jellies, Julep!

Because of these thoughts my box is actually entirely made up of previous products. I chose Vivien as the only polish (aside from the free gift of Hartleigh) and then picked up two other Plush Pout Lip Crayons for myself (in Almond Nude and Aurora Pink) since I love the current one I have so much. I’m excited about my choices, even though I feel bad that I won’t have new shades to share with you on the blog. :/

The selection window is open from now until the 24th at midnight, so if you want to get in to select, change or skip your box remember to do it soon!

Let me know what you think of the products this month! Thanks for visiting!
