Summer Time Nail Art Challenge: Bright Colour Blocking

It's summer! Let's start a new nail art challenge! Today I bring you the first of a series of fills based on summer themes... Today we have: bright colours! I decided to go with a simple colour blocking design that used some of the chevron nail vinyls I picked up the other month. I had to cut some of them in half to make the third strip up in this look, and though my lines are a bit rough I think it turned out pretty nice. :)

I originally planned on just using Essie shades for this design but I couldn't find a deep purple in my collection that I liked (so that one is Color Club Disco Dress). The other shades are Essie Blanc, Essie Avenue Maintain, Essie Bachelorette Bash and Essie The More The Merrier.

This challenge is a short one - only three days in total. I'm excited about the next two days! You can take a look below to get a hint about what my designs will involve...

And don't forget to check out the other designs that have been done for today's fill!

Thanks for visiting! xx

  3. What a fun design and color combination. You did such a good job. Your nails looks so smooth too. When I do a tape manicure you can always see a slight height variance where my lines are. Nice work!

    1. Thank you! A thick layer of top coat solves everything! Haha. I'm guilty of not pressing the tape down firmly enough sometimes though, and it bleeding underneath. Or sometimes pressing too firmly before the polish dries and then pulling up my base coat when I remove it. :( It's a pain re-doing a nail but sometimes it has to be done!
