Double-post day today, isn’t that exciting! 🙂 I always love digging polishes out of my stash for swatch posts because 90% of the time it ends with me falling in love with a shade I didn’t even know I had. Case in point: China Glaze All Wrapped Up! I’ve had this shade since it came out last winter and for whatever reason it’s never actually made it onto my nails until now. But now that it has I wish I could never take it off! Ahhh~!
As I mentioned earlier, All Wrapped Up was one of the shades that came out in China Glaze’s 2013 Holiday Collection. In the bottle it looks like a fairly boring blurple glitter. On the nails it is everything I could want from a glitter – this bottle is jam-packed with blueish purple microglitters that give amazing coverage (opaque in two coats – I feel like this is how Julep wishes their “full coverage” polishes came out) and dries to a lovely textured matte finish. In the light this polish leans more towards blue, but in the shade it looks pure purple.
Seriously, this polish makes me want to stick cute little bows on it to live up to the name… I’m so mad at myself for only trying this now! I bet it would be stunning with a top coat, too. It would really bring out the glitter and shine.
In coverage and finish it reminds me a lot of Julep Tracy but with a deeper pigment (and of course more purple than blue). That’s a good thing since Tracy is one of my fav Julep polishes to date. I think I picked up a few other shades from this collection too, so I’m excited now to dig them out and give them a try (especially since I think at least one of the others was a packed microglitter just like this). Yay excitement! Haha.
I’m super happy I pulled this polish out, and I’d love to hear what you think of it. Any ideas for how you’d like to see it used in nail art? Let me know!
Thanks for visiting!! xx
