ProcrastiNails: Pinterest Inspired Nail Art Challenge Week 2: Matte Dotted Path Mani

So I’m going to try to get my Pinterest Inspired Challenge Fills posted every Monday, so they coincide with the posts being done by Julia @ Beauty Fiends. 🙂 This week: dotticures! My inspiration was this pin on Instagram, which is originally a design done by Nicole @ Glitter Me This.

This mani started off with two coats of Julep Fiore. After that dried I took China Glaze Exotic Encounters and did 3 dots down each of my nails with the largest dotting tool I have. I then took my smallest dotting tool and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On and did a trail of tiny dots around the larger ones. Add a matte topcoat and voila! (If you want to see this mani with a gloss topcoat there’s a picture from the mani-in-progress on Instagram here.)

Quick story: I let this mani dry for a good 10 minutes before I topped it with Seche Vite (to seal everything in) and then covered that with a layer of Essie Matte About You. It wasn’t until I was looking at the pictures on my computer for cropping that I noticed there was some streaking from the dots! Bummer! In real life the white dots are so tiny that you can’t make out a single imperfection.

I always forget how much I love matte nails. Ahhh! So pretty.
