ProcrastiNails: Step into Summer: Inspired by a Bathing Suit

I realized yesterday that it’s almost the end of the month, which means the Step into Summer Challenge is wrapping up. I know I’m not going to get all of the fills completed but I knew I wanted to get the bathing suit fill in at the very least. And I knew exactly which bathing suit to use as an inspiration!

I bought this bathing suit for sun tanning on my trip to Mexico this year. It’s super cute, though I don’t think I would risk wearing a white bathing suit in the water! When I was thinking about what kind of design to do for the challenge I knew I had to use this as my inspiration. It’s gorgeous! Look at those colours!

I started this whole things off with three coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On. Once that dried I covered everything in a coat of Seche Vite top coat and then used a variety of the new nail art brushes I have to layer on the other colours to look like the bikini top. 🙂

I did the base of the flower with OPI Red Lights Ahead… Where? and then added a segment of Sinful Colors Boom Boom inside of each petal (which you can’t see very well because the red and pink melt together). Then I used SH White On again to add some details at the centre of the flower so I could layer OPI Need Sunglasses? on top in a way that would show the yellow. Finished with marks made from China Glaze Man Hunt and Sinful Colors Rise & Shine (which came through in these pics a lot duller than it is IRL).

I’m sad my camera didn’t pick up the colours for this as accurately as I wanted… They’re less orange and more red IRL. If you look at the pic from my instagram they’re more accurate over there.

I love love love all these colours together!! I like how the accent nails with the designs pop so beautifully off of the white.

Thanks for visiting!! xx
