Nail Art // The Digit-al Dozen Does Rainforest: Cairns Birdwing Butterfly Inspired Nails

I have my last post for The Digit-al Dozen Does Rainforest for this week, but unfortunately I'm feeling really under the weather physically and emotionally so I don't have much energy to write out a long post. :( I made up for it with LOTS of pics though!

For this last look I decided to do some butterfly nails inspired by the Cairns Birdwing Butterfly which is a really pretty butterfly with yellow, blue, and mint wings. Very pretty! You can see it here if you want!

I started off with a base of Essie White Page and then put on my colours through a combination of dry brushing and sponging of the gradient. I used three colours - OPI Gelato on My Mind, OPI Amazon ... Amazoff, and Essie Muse, Myself.

The actual design of the butterfly wings was freehanded with black acrylic and a detail brush, and then I added some spots with white acrylic paint. (Even though this type of butterfly technically doesn't have spots like that - shhhhh!)

So there we have it for this month's DD looks! I had a lot of fun and was pleased to be able to actually incorporate freehand work into each of the five looks I did. :) Hooray!

Check out the other Day 5 looks below and then let me know what you think! Thanks for visiting! xx
