Ahhh I'm behind! :( Things got a bit ridiculous this week and since I didn't do all my DD looks ahead of time I'm now officially behind one day. Gotta catch up!
Today I'm sharing my third look with you for The Digit-al Dozen REDOES Art, and this time I based my design on some pressed silver coasters I inherited from a great uncle. I just love the raised silver image of roses they have (though unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of them to share with you - I'll have to update the post later with pictures of the coasters)!
To create a similar look I decided to do silver-on-silver stamping, and guess what? All of this was done with just one polish! Check out how I did that below. :)
So how did I do this with just one polish, you ask? Well! The polish I used was OPI Push and Shove and I started with one coat on naked nails, then when it dried I did a single coat of Sally Hansen Matte Top Coat to get rid of the reflective-ness. Smart, right?
When the matte base was dry, I just took more of my chrome polish and stamped on my images with MoYou London Holy Shapes Collection 19 (for the silver tips) and BP-73 (for the roses).
I didn't use a top coat as I was worried it would make my chrome stamping too subtle, and as I'm typing this post up (a few hours later) I can already see the whole look is much more dull. That's the sad part about chrome polishes - so pretty at first, but they really don't last long.
I love how using the same polish gives the feel of the roses being etched in the base colour, which is exactly what I was going for. It's not the most complex look but I really dig it! :)
Let me know what you think! Thanks for visiting! xx
