ProcrastiNails: 30 Days of Colour [Day 19: Vampy] Sally Hansen Velvet Texture in Lavish

Swatch of Sally Hansen Velvet Texture in Lavish

It’s no secret that I love texture, right? So when I saw the new Sally Hansen Velvet Texture line in stores I knew it was something I had to try. Texture that emulates velvet? Sounds awesome to me! And the colour I picked up just so happens to go along with today’s prompt for the 30 Days of Colour – ‘Vampy’!

What did I think of the texture? Does it really feel like velvet? Check under the cut to find out!

Lavish is a deep and vampy shade that I’m going to call a blackened raspberry. Doesn’t that sound deep and lavish? (Ba-dump-tsss!) It took three coats to get full coverage and unfortunately even with that the coverage is still a wee bit patchy from a distance, though you wouldn’t guess it from these pictures.

Now let’s talk texture. This is definitely a more finely textured polish than most, and I can definitely say my nails feel like they’re covered in velvet when I run my fingers over them! It’s kind of weird but I kind of love it? Haha. Think more gritty than flocking powder but still soft and without the mess of flocking powder! (Worth the trade-off in my opinion!)

I think this is a fun and (surprisingly) new take on texture. My nails feel so soft and I’m in love with how rich the colour is. My only complaint would be that I wish the coverage was a bit more even.

Have you tried this line from Sally Hansen? What do you think of it?
