ProcrastiNails: Swatches // 2014 Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar – December 1 to 6

Ciate Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar Swatches

Hello hello! Exciting post to share with you today. This year I decided to pick up the Ciaté Mini Mani Advent Calendar – an advent calendar that has a mini nail polish (or nail art item) for each day until Christmas! Eeee! I saw a few people going through these last year and remember wishing I had one (but not willing to shell out for the price tag). So this year I decided to take the plunge and I am SO HAPPY I did! I’ve never used Ciaté polishes before and while they do all seem to need a full 3 coats to get rid of streaks I’ve been really pleasantly surprised by them. 🙂 This year the advent calendar came in a really cute house-shaped box that reminds me of a doll house!

I’m revealing/swatching these daily over on instagram but I’m planning to do weekly swatch and review round-ups over here, too. So if you aren’t following me over there (which you really should be – fun times over on instagram!) you don’t have to miss out on all the fun.

December 1 – Ciaté Kiss Chase

Swatch of Ciate Kiss Chase

The first colour that came in my advent calendar was Kiss Chase which is a bold and fun bright pink crème. I’m not usually a pink fan but I really like this one! Pictured here is three coats without top coat, and it applied fairly smoothly though you do need that third coat to even out any streakyness.

December 2 – Ciaté Cha Cha Cha

Day 2 brought with it Cha Cha Cha – a bright (almost) neon crelly! It dries to an almost matte finish and builds up fairly well for a crelly. What you see here is three coats without top coat. Since it’s a crelly you are going to have visible nail line without white undies, but I don’t mind.

December 3 – Ciaté Meet Me In Mayfair

Swatch of Ciate Meet Me in Mayfair over Ciate Ivory Queen

Next up is Meet Me In Mayfair which is a fun bar glitter topper. The glitter is a fun mix of black, pink, and soft yellow. Very unique! What you see here is one coat over Ivory Queen and the glitter payoff from one stroke is awesome.

And let’s do a macro for fun! Honestly until I took this picture I didn’t realize what an odd combo of colours were in this glitter – but it totally works!

December 4 – Ciaté Girl With a Pearl

Ciate Girl With a Pearl nail art pearls over Ciate Ivory Queen

Girl With a Pearl is a bottle full of different sized nail art pearls. Pearls aren’t an accent I use often in my nail art but I quite like these ones so that might change in the future. To apply I put a layer of top coat on over my base of Ivory Queen and then stuck on my pearls while the polish was still wet.

December 5 – Ciaté Espadrilles

Swatch of Ciate Espadrilles

Day 5 made me feel excited the moment I opened the little cardboard door because it held a polish that looked awesome – and Espadrilles did not disappoint! It’s a stunning red and copper metallic (the base is more obviously red on the nails than it is in the bottle) with a gold duochrome that comes through at the right angle. Pictured here is three coats without top coat. The more coats you put on the more rich the colour.

December 6 – Ciaté Ivory Queen

Swatch of Ciate Ivory Queen

Last but not least for my first week was a bottle of Ivory Queen. It’s a soft pink/beige neutral with a hint of pearl shimmer in the right light (which was captured better on instagram than in these pictures) and it matches my skin tone better than almost any other nude I own. The interesting thing is that in some light it looks like the soft pink you see below, and in other light it looks more the creamy beige you see above! I definitely love both shades. What you see here is three coats with no top coat, and though the first couple of coats were streaky the third evened everything out.

I’m really happy with the variety that came in the first week of this advent calendar – so many different finishes and colours! I think my favourite would have to be the combo of Ivory Queen with Meet Me In Mayfair on top. I’m still wearing it now, actually.

So, what do you think of my Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar? Did you pick one up for yourself? Do you wish you had? Are you excited to see swatches from the rest of the month? 🙂 Let me know!

Thanks for visiting!
