ProcrastiNails: Swatch-It Sunday: China Glaze Ruby Pumps

China Glaze Ruby Pumps is one of those polishes that everyone knows and loves. It’s definitely a collection staple, though I didn’t know anything about it’s history until I did a bit of research for this post! This polish is part of the Wizard Of Ooh Ahz Collection and if you want to hear more about the release (re-discovery, re-creation, re-release) of this collection I’d encourage you to check out the post over on All Lacquered Up.

Ruby Pumps polish is a bold red jelly packed with red glitter. Because it’s a jelly it does take time to build up which is a problem for some people. I know my mom was disappointed when she saw how many coats she had to use (this is the only polish she owns!). I get around that by using a coat of red undies first and then layering two coats of Ruby Pumps on top.

Like all China Glaze polishes it applies really well, though I would suggest using a layer of top coat when you’re done to smooth all the glitter down (which I didn’t do here).

I think this is a great polish to pull in for Halloween looks to give the impression of dripping, glittering blood (which I’ve already used it once for this holiday season), but it’s also a great bold colour to wear year around. Definitely one to grab if you don’t have it already. 🙂

Thanks for visiting!
