ProcrastiNails: The 31 Day Challenge 2014 – Day 21: For Margo(t)

So this one takes a bit of explanation. The theme for Day 21 of The 31 Day Challenge is Inspired by a Color. Well, the colour I was inspired by was Julep Margot – a stunning gold foil. And every time I use Margot I’m reminded of my cousin’s adorably happy baby Margo. So I decided to do a manicure designed for her, using a cute elephant animal print I found online. Maybe when Margo’s fingernails are bigger than pebbles I can recreate this for her. 🙂

I only used polish to create this look, and looking back I think for the design acrylics would’ve been easier. After two coats of my base I painted on my elephant using China Glaze Surreal Appeal and a tiny brush (mixed with a bit of white to make the ear). I then did scattered dotting with Surreal Appeal and OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-Holm?

Since my nails are so curved it’s hard to see all of the elephant, so I took a shot of it from each side just so you could see the detail. Look at that cute little trunk and tail!

I think this is a super cute look, and now that I’m looking at it I kind of wish I had done a string of elephants across all my nails in different colours! Oh well, a design for another day I guess.

We’re in the home stretch, folks! 10 left and we’re done! Hopefully I can pull forth a last burst of energy to help get me there.

Thanks for visiting!
