ProcrastiNails: My August #HePicksMyPolish Mani – A Confusion of Witches!

So it’s another month and time for another #HePicksMyPolish challenge! This month didn’t go as smoothly as expected, and it’s all the fault of teenage witches (and my terrible memory). Specifically: Sabrina and Hermione!

You see, my dad chose three colours for me to use: Julep Padma (a deep purple), Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Lava (an orange-gold shimmery duochrome) and Julep Hermione (a white crackle). This is the manicure I was challenged with, but as you can see it’s not the one I ended up with…

The thing is, there’s another Julep crackle polish in my collection named after a teenage witch… Julep Sabrina (an orange crackle)! When I first read the list my mind instantly went to this polish instead (“Wow,” I thought, “it’s weird that my dad would choose two oranges… But I’ll make it work!”). This was what I had in mind when I created this look, and since I didn’t realize my error until literally the moment I started writing this post, that’s what you’re getting. Sorry dad!

And just for fun, here’s a look at the base on it’s own before the crackle was added. I really like how this looks with the negative space!

I love the look of the Sally Hansen Lustre Shine polish, but damn was it a pain to clean up! Glitter on my fingers as far as the eye could see!

So that’s my story… Damn witches! Haha.
