ProcrastiNails: Swatch-It Sunday: Essie Jazzy Jubilant

I have a nubs swatch to share with you from the vault today with one of the Essie shades I got on clearance at my local Shoppers Drug Mart! They’ve been having awesome clearance sales recently (a friend picked up 5 ORLY Gel polishes for $1 each for me last week!), and it has let me pick up some of the shades from previous collections that I liked but didn’t love when they were released. Yay sales!

Essie Jazzy Jubilant was part of the Luxeffects Holiday 2013 Collection. I don’t have many of the Luxeffects top coats because I don’t normally find them that interesting. Aside from the discontinued Shine of the Times (which is one of my favourite Essie polishes ever because iridescent flakies) the various glitter toppers don’t really excite me. Even after picking this one up I can recognize that it’s pretty but it doesn’t really do much for me. Hex glitter toppers seem to be a dime a dozen these days, and it takes something special to really wow me.

I had to use the glitter sponging method to get equal coverage across all my nails, and what you see in these photographs is two rounds of coverage. Jazzy Jubilant is a mix of small and medium hex glitters in silver, red, turquoise, blue, pink and purple all suspended in a clear base. I swatched it over Julep Shannon.

Jazzy Jubilant would be cute in a simple holiday mani I think, and it could also make a cute spring mani with the right pastel base to show off those soft colours… I’m thinking maybe a light pink? I have a few spring challenges coming up, so maybe we’ll get a chance to see that in the near future. 🙂

Let me know what you think about this topper, and I’m also curious about where you go for your favourite polish sales! Shoppers? Sally’s? Online?

Thanks for visiting!! xx
