ProcrastiNails: The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Dec 1st – Presents for Everyone!

So I was going to wait until later today to post this, but I was just too excited. Today is the start of December, and it’s also the start of a new nail art challenge I’m taking part in! It’s called The 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge, and in theory I’ll be posting a new mani for it every other day. (Ohmygosh that’s so much!) I’ve never fully followed a challenge that posted as often as this one, so you’ll have to forgive me if I pass on a few of the days this month. I don’t plan to, but it might happen anyway.

So! To start off we have my fill for the first day, the theme of which is: presents!

I really didn’t know what to do for this theme, so I decided to do a skittlette mani with different present/decoration styles doodled on each nail. Originally I had a 3D bow on my ring finger, but I didn’t like how it looked so I took it off and free-handed the bow you see instead. Not my best work, but hey. It does the job. 🙂

The red is Julep Kenya, which is one of my favourite shades from the Gem Collection. The white base is Essie Blanc, and the detail work is done with Rimmel London French White Nail Tip Liner. (I think this whole design would have been easier if I had a nail art pen I liked, but the ones I have never go on smoothly enough. I’m in the market for suggestions, if anyone has some!) The green is Sinful Colors Rise & Shine.

I didn’t really start this mani with a plan, I just kind of chose colours I liked and started doodling. Would it have turned out better if I planned it ahead of time? Maybe. But the theme wasn’t very inspiring for me, so I didn’t really want to spend much time on it. Ah well. My fill for December 3rd, though… THAT one I love the theme of, and I can’t wait for you to see what I’ve come up with! Eeee! 🙂

Are any of you lovelies taking part in this challenge? Have any ideas for upcoming fills for me? Let me know!! 🙂

Thanks for visiting! xx
