ProcrastiNails: 31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Flowery China Glaze Rainbow Colour Blocking

A short post today! Basically I’m trying to get both of my current challenges (my own 2013 Challenge and the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge) done before the end of the year, so I’ve started going through the remaining challenges and planning out some designs. For Day 10 of the 31 Day Challenge I had to do rainbow nails, and I decided to do them differently than how I’ve seen other fills done in the past. Basically the only thing rainbow about this is that I used a full rainbow-spectrum of colours, rather that doing your common linear rainbow gradient/design. 🙂

To get the base of this mani I did some colour blocking with various China Glaze shades. I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On (not pictured) and then did random free-hand blocking with (L to R) Under the Boardwalk, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, Man Hunt, Exotic Encounters and Roguish Red. Once that was dry I used Rimmel London Black Satin and Cheeky Plate CH50 to stamp on the flowers.

This was my first time using this stamp design, and I quite like how it turned out. I think it would be interesting to use again as a base on a neutral colour, and then to colour in/add details on top of it with other colours.

Thanks for visiting!! xx
